worst app update ever - they have turned a good game into a shit game - omg wtf - what are there developers thinking of - just to make money - well f*** u gameloft im out of here
Let me know what you don't like about the interface and I can send in the feedback. I just started downloading the update myself so I haven't had a chance to check out the final, live version.
What happened to the Platinum events? It seems we can't use friends to get boosts in the same way: there are fewer options. For example, where once I could boast both breaks and handling now it seems it is either/or. A car I had raced once and had 3 stars in would no longer allow me to race; saying that I needed to upgrade but gave no indication as to how much I needed to upgrade it. I not yet saying this a step back but it is heading that way.
Hi Ryan, I think it's more a case of what you get used to, I found it a bit weird to find where I was at with cars and events. Having spent a bit more time with it, it is starting to flow a little better. I cannot find the Platinum events either, but I have a suspicion they are being replaced.... Am I correct?
I'm so disappointed, I don't know what else to say. You've taken away all my friends. No matter what I do, I show as having no friends. I had a very large friends list in game. No more premium events. No way to look at cars you already own. Menus make no logical sense. We had to wait month after month for this? As a paying customer, it makes me feel duped.
An update since my last post. While I'm still not a huge fan of the new UI, most of my previous problems have been answered by Rip. However, the past issues of stuttering and crashing on my iPad mini are back again. Just like pre iOS 7.1. More then half the time gamecenter doesn't load on my mini. Haven't been able to finish a race without a crash. Also, game syncing seems broken. If I click restore, I get a timing error, and any upgrades I started on another device disappear.
I agree that the UI seems a bit inflated - there is a lot more scrolling now, which means it takes longer to find and start a race in career mode (i don't really find the 'continue' button very intriguing). The new event systems looks ok, and it looks promising that there is room for additional events too. Sad to see the daily race go, as it was good for cash. Sad to see rewards be lowered. Cash output from races seem to have been lowered as well. The linear fashion of career mode seems a little stiff, but I think I can live with that. I need to spend some more time with the game - haven't tried any multi-player yet. I'd still like to see a quick race option, where we can pick the car, the track, # and difficulty of opponents, and # of laps.
That's my understanding. This update features a different iteration for MP, I'm working on playing through this update as well and trying to get more information from the Dev team. I wasn't aware of a lot of these changes prior to the update going live so I'm doing my best to get up to speed! That doesn't seem right. I don't understand why cars you had previously owned were not carried over to this update. As I mentioned above, this aspect of the update was not relayed to me so I'm trying to understand all that happened. I'm sending feedback to the Dev team on Monday so please feel free to post or PM me any comments/concerns you all have about this update. Again, I wasn't informed about this until the update was live. I'll definitely make a note of it in my feedback email I send to the team on Monday. I'd like to apologize for this. EDIT: I'm sending community feedback to the Dev team on Monday. Please post or PM me with your comments/concerns about the update. It will 100% make it's way over to the Dev team.
Not your fault, mate. Nobody can hold you responsible for what you had no control over. The fact you keep in touch with the forum really appreciated.
Wow, cash rewards have been pretty drastically reduced-leveling, percent completions, events, etc. one thing I can't figure out is how to 'purchase' additional crew members-they eliminated the screen would you could purchase more. Career mode races seem to have been shortened and made much easier.
There is an Event called 'Upgrade Installer'? Really? So to win you just need to spend money, lots of money and premium money, lots of premium money to win? What. The. Fvck? ABE: and now I can't seem to use mechanics to speed my upgrading from the race menu in Events. Could the person who thought 'that would be a good idea' please hand in his pass and make himself known to security who will escort them off the premises. ABE: it seems as if there is a forced upgrade system similar to the much hated and despised PR system in that most money grabbing of games RRĀ£ (sorry, RR3) in the Events and the premuim currency reward has be dramatically reduced. Must. Not. Mash. Update. Anymore.
With the greatest of respect Gameloft_Ryan If your the mouthpiece and communicator of info for this game, why are you not kept in the loop?? Not knowing what changes happen and only realising through this post or you play yourself is unbelievable
I am playing GTR2 since the day it was available and it is, correction WAS, my favourite racer on iOS. Since the update, I can't believe how much worse EVERYTHING has gotten! Due to earlier experience I never had any respect for Gameloft as a company, even though some of the games are great. But THIS time, I can not help but wonder by what kind of people this company is run? How sick of a mind must you have to change the game in the way you did and try to sell it as "progress" ?? You destroyed practically EVERYTHING I loved about it with one swift stroke. The "new UI" must have been designed unter the heavy influence of either drugs or alcohol. Or is it a practical joke and I just don't get it? Linear carreer instead of chosing races? About a hundred swipes where before it was a single tap? You GOTTA BE KIDDING ME ???? At least its good to see that most people here feel the same way. And I think it speaks volumes that Gameloft Ryan wasn't even informed (or at least he claims so) of the update and its changes. I can only hope, there is a single braincell left in this company and they change it back to the way it was before. Its just, I don't really believe it ....
It boils down to the fact that I'm in a different office then the development team and so I find out about things very late. It's something I've been working on trying to improve!
Hi, Ryan. The frustration is at the game, not you. All the best. ABE: now that the ex Platinum events force upgrades it not worth the money to enter the events ABE: I rolled back to the previous incarnation and an unavoidable pop up prompts me to ungrade. What the Hell? I now have to switch off wifi before I load the game up. Halving the premium rewards for levelling and % completion of events was the final straw.
Thanks for the reply, if the info you get is outdated, then your roll providing info becomes worthless. Hopefully you can either move office or simply an up to date email would do the same job from the devs because at the moment the communications from Gameloft are very halfhearted even if it is not your fault GaZ
So I've got both versions running on my devices and comparing the upgrade cost of the Dodge Dart GT: Top speed stage 3 is 5850 on the older version and 11350 in the new version. Acceleration stage 4 is 9750 in the old version and 18950 in the new version. Handling stage 3 is 5350 in the old version and 10400 in the new version. The upgrade cost has been doubled . Your money is now worth half as much as it was before the updrade A further comparison shows the Mechanic's time reduction is now reduced by half. So now everything cost twice as much to upgrade, takes twice as long and you get 50% premium currency. Marvelous. This is every thing I worried about in this prophetic post
