I had/have similar issues myself with my own personal iPad and I had to do the iCloud restore as I recommended to yourself (you're welcome by the way, I'm very glad that one didn't blow up in my face:)).
I can't actually answer any question on it because it is confusing the guys I'm talking to about it as well, but in my case it does seem to be tied to soft launch, international launch and the store switch I did and this has caused a weird profile sync communication error.
Whether its the same for yourself, I couldn't say but that's why I advised caution earlier. It's not a common problem so its harder for them to source the cause.
I had similar issue with A8 at one stage that they eventually solved with one of the updates and I have spoken to a few about it so my expectation is that it will get solved in the same way with an update.
The A8 got fixed quicker because it was further down the development pipeline than this one but this one will catch up as they have fixed it in other stuff of theirs and its just a matter of applying the fix to the different game code (which isn't as easy as it sounds but will get done).

I agree with your idea of a manual sync button. Ironically, I emailed in to someone that suggestion earlier today.
Whether it gets added or not, we will have to wait and see but it did take a few months (2 or 3 I think) after launch before RR3 added it because they had substantial cloud sync issues at the start.
Personally its something I'd like to see in all games with any cloud support. Seemly though, there can be a lot of flak from people who press the wrong buttons by mistake:).

Edit. I would have answered your earlier question quicker but got busy with stuff, sorry bout that.

I've mentioned the Platinum events disappearing issue to the team but haven't gotten a response yet. I'll push again today to see if there is anything new on this front. I really have no idea what could be causing it other than the server sync issues/connection issues Rip mentioned earlier. Depending on what iOS version your iPad is running, that might be what's causing the issue with GTR2. We've had several problems pop up in terms of memory leakage and resource allocation with iOS 7 on all devices.

Are you talking about the challenges in Game Center?

Yes and no. You are basically racing against that's players race. You create a challenge, and your race is uploaded to be used in multiplayer. I believe they call asynchronous multiplayer.

Yes, my situation is the same as Rip's. I played during the soft launch, then switched stores and downloaded from my main iTunes account on the US. That's gotta be it. Seems like the devs are on the right track to fixing it. Can just be frustrating. Sorry to have spammed the hell out of the thread today.

@ Gameloft_Ryan: Will controller support be added in the next update? I have a Moga, and quite honestly Asphalt is getting all my racing attention because of the excellently-added controller support. If they add it to this game, I'll b in heaven (and maybe I can do better as well, as touch or tilt isn't working for me).

It's cool, man. No need to apologize. It's good to hear everyone's opinions because that's how I get feedback to send to the Devs.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I haven't received any new information on what's next for GTR2 as of right now. I'm working on reaching out to the team to relay issues and try to figure out what's coming up as best I can. I'd like to think that we would eventually get controller support out because it's been a popular feature that was added to A8.

I'll be sure to update you all as I get information :)

Hi, Ryan. Any news on raising the view position or in car audio and do we need such massive view blocking mirrors in the Reno Clio IV RS?

Sorry to be a nag, love the game.

ABE: and the bug that stops me from accepting challenges?

Rip73- No problem and no, I never have been rewarded for my position on the leaderboards but thanks for noticing! I actually like that it resets every month for each player to have a opportunity to win prizes as long as the prizes are actually received by winner(s) each time. I emailed GL but have not had any response other than the initial email generated by their system confirming someone will be investigating my concern. Any help getting my rewards pushed through is appreciated! Again Rip73, thanks for all the guidance and help the past few weeks. See you at the races!!

You're very welcome of course, thanks for the thanks:)
On support, they can at times be slow to get back to you depending on how hammered with emails they are at the time. It's just means they have a big back log and not that they are ignoring it.
And something like your issue will take a week or so to look into because it goes to support, then the dev team and then back again so you know yourself, people and all the things they have to do as well.
Generally, they get back to me very fast but they could just be used to me. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for them :), but generally I cannot fault their efficiency and how well they've dealt with anything I've spoken to them about (it has been exemplary).
If in a week (from date originally sent in the form) you get no further reply, send it in again and do use the customer care option from within the game itself. I find that the best way for it to go where it needs to. Be sure and give them you're gamecenter id or Facebook thing, whichever way you log in basically.
Oh and be sure and have gamecenter turned on in device. I've found many don't turn it on and it makes things very difficult to trace if someone is not logged to some form of profile tracker.
Let me know how you get on, whether it gets fixed or not. Give it some time though. You know yourself there's a lot of stuff goes in to them every day.

No worries, you're not being a nag :) Like I mentioned in one of my previous posts I'm working on trying to find out what's coming in some of the bigger updates to see if any new features, like the ones you mentioned, will be making an appearance.

I'll put in another request later this week for information and see what I get!

If you haven't been contacted for a good amount of time (read over 1 week) definitely feel free to PM me with your email and support ticket ID number and I'll ask around.

Thanks, Ryan. Your input here is very much appreciated.

Would that other games had such communication...

ABE: does anyone else notice a difficulty spike with the 3rd race (Qualification) in the Clio Platinum race where you have to get around the track in 2 minutes.

I can do the other races with ease on the same level but I can't seem to crack this one (and Qualification races in general if I'm honest).

In general the Qualification races are extremely difficult relative to the other races in each tier. And particularly the qualification races at Lake Como are just stupid. I consider myself a decent player and can make it through most car tiers without full upgrades but for a chance at 3 stars at Lake Como I have to max out the car and per-race upgrades and it still takes me a handful of tries to perfect a line that will give me the 8 or so seconds needed off the 1 star time to get 3.

    So it's not just you.

While the event alar I mentions is definitely one of the most difficult and could do with a slightly less difficult time, it can be done.
The qualification events in general are definitely the toughest in the game but don't waste cash fully upgrading your car for them, it genuinely will not be necessary.
While I do have a couple of cars fully upgraded, I realised pretty quickly that it wasn't needed and most cars are around mid level or at the very bare minimum requirement for whatever event I race them in (amateur, champion and those other tiers).

The qualification events in the platinum series are tough as well but none of the cars I've used in those are fully upgraded or anywhere near it.
I simply use my friends (thanks to all those high level ones by the way, ye know who ye are:)) for the upgrade boosts, mainly high level ones to get the maximum braking and handling for any general event and then for qualification events, I will also use the boosts that require the in game currency and normally one try will do it.
Obviously, one can guess how much time you need left on the clock to reach the qualification time so if I'm questionable about whether I'll make it or not, I simply restart before I cross the line and try harder not to clip walls (that's what a does the most damage to time) next time. And it helps not to waste currency. Currency which the platinum event has (or will) given me as third and second prize.
Its a tactic that's worked every time so far.

So have some over level 30 friends for the boosts and then use the cash boost (all three or four, whichever is the max) to get those qualification events, restart if you don't think you'll make it, stay away from walls, brake very early and tap the brakes, don't brake and hold, accelerate out of the corner as early as possible and that should do it.

Only ever upgrade cars to the level that allows them to compete in campaign events that you want to race them in, so 12 out of 20 (I think its 12 for champion level) should be your absolute max. Between 8 and 12 is the max I go to now.
And while the boosts may seem like a waste as they are a one off payment, upgrading the expensive cars that you might only race once or twice is at a high level really is not necessary and is money that could be spent better on new cars.

I've also just realised that there is no sound when you power slide or lose traction in the current Platinum Event with the merc.

Is this just me (close view)?

Didnt anyone else notice the last update ruining the game for them? Less reward credits, cash, and exp. Even worse, cars that used to be purchased for credits are now cash only. What happened? I feel quite disappointed, this was such a fun and fare f2p game.

Well, I've had the game since soft launch and I find the opposite to be true.
The cash rewards have increased and have gotten a lot better in the mid to late tiers.
The mechanics also now give extra bonus so right now I'm getting an extra fifty percent on top and plan on getting the rest of the mechanics to increase that up to 90 or 100%.

The xp seems exactly the same to me. I'm still levelling up with the greatest of ease and I don't even have as much time to play it as I used to.

And the price of cars was actually reduced because a lot of the high level ones are much cheaper now and many more of the cars can be bought with credits rather than the dollar currency. There used to be a lot more that required the dollar currency.
And if you're looking at the daily races where you have specific cars at discount with a dollar amount, you're looking at the buy it now price, which is the buy early price. Most of them have a credits price for when you've earned enough of stars to unlock the events they are associated with so once you've progressed far enough, you won't even need the dollar currency to buy them in most cases. You should look at the price under the car details titled price when unlocked.

And even in saying all that, the platinum series rewards a lot of both credits and dollars and a top end car and the car used in the vent for a reduction so I don't really see the problem.

Its one of the most balanced of all the free to play games and everything is achievable in it without actually spending any real money and a minimum of grind.
If you compare it to its main competitor, its an absolute doddle to earn and progress in this one.

Edit. And I even forgot about the multiplayer which has twice given me 800 of the in game dollars for a top 100 position which was actually very easy to achieve and still gives 100 for a top 250 and a minimum of 2000 for top 10.
The key is still the platinum events, with 300 (or more depending on the event) easily available each time and levelling up, which is still very easy.
I even bought some iap that I simply have no use for at the moment because it didn't feel right not to reward in some way or another. Yet I still have no need for it now and don't foresee any need because I'm earring enough just by playing away.

This.. definitely my experience as well. I think it's gotten much better with recent updates and applaud the devs for making a very fun, fair free to play game. Thanks to the devs and hopefully the bugs keep getting ironed out...

I finally updated today with the update that seemingly was the same as the last, every reward was cut. Every car in the performace series costs nearly 2000 cash now except the volkswagen and bugatti for credits. I was grinding an easy race for 2000c and 800 exp, its now 1500c and 600 exp. The platinum event was 500 cash, now its 300. How can my experience be so different?

Actually, I think I must have some glitches going on. I don't have enough stars to unlock a bunch of cars but they appear unlocked and only able to purchase with cash. For example, bently speed 8 costs credits from what I remember. Its unlocked and I can look at the races, it costs 1700 cash only. I only have 1337 stars, I dont think that was enough for any of the performance series races.
