Any additional news from the Dev team on MP or cash rewards after a multiplayer race? I wanted to also add that I cannot chat with a team via the in game chat feature. This stopped on or about the same time as the initial problem of not receiving points and $$ after winning a MP race. It's almost as if I am not online at all in the multiplayer section of the game. If I delete the game entirely and re-install, will I lose all of my cars $$, and RP? In the game, I am logged into Game Center and Facebook both and the last time I looked 7th on the all time leaderboard. Just want to make sure at least I do not lose what I have from grinding the since soft launch. Thanks Ryan for any help and insight!!
I haven't seen this specific issue before, I'd suggest contacting our support team with this SS and letting them know that you've experienced it. I'll also make a note of it when I reach out to the team. No additional insight yet. I do believe it's on their list for things that are getting fixed in an update but I haven't heard about the chat feature not functioning. Was that just a one time thing or has it been something you've constantly had issues with?
I noticed it a day or two after the initial problem started with not being rewarded $$ or RP. It very well could have started at the same time however, I cannot be certain. I'm going to take screenshots of all my progress thus far, delete the app and re-install. Maybe that will fix my problem?? I'll update if anything changes.
Tier 6 Payoffs and Multiplayer Challenge Questions So do race rewards scale with your current level? Because if they don't I really don't understand how the progression works. The upgrade costs for the Tier 6 Platinum Event reward car this week, the VW Golf 24, are crazy high. 600k credits for handling Tier 1, yet I'm still making 3000 credits for a win in the car specific, Tier 6 campaign challenge and even less in the Tier 6 open event? That's insane.. The only thing I can figure is that if you're racing outside your level (currently level 25, and my earnings seem to be maximized by racing in Tier 3). you don't make any money? Also, can anyone really explain how the multiplayer challenges work? I see people showing up in my challenge list (the one before you select "New Challenge" or "New Pro Challenge") with negatives and positives, and these affect my overall rating it seems, yet what car/laps/races are these being based on? If we have one un-upgraded car in our stable that we've raced a couple times are those runs being used in asynchronous multiplayer races, causing us to always lose when that car comes up for someone else's multiplayer event? I find the lack of documentation here irritating for any otherwise very good game. Thanks for any information!
Well, after deleting the game and re-install there is still no change as stated prior. I ran 20 MP races getting 1 hard opponent which produced 4RP and $16K. Still my entry fee was $9900. 1/20 chances to earn $$ or RP is not going to cut it. Also, I have noticed that my Gamecenter account does NOT show I have any points or RP like everyone else, it's just blank. It used to prior to the update. Hopefully your contacts on the Dev team are real close to a fix or update. Thanks for your help Gameloft Ryan!!!
I'm going to copy/paste these posts and send it off to the Dev team today to see if I can get some clarification on this because even after playing it myself, I'm not 100% sure as to how things are working. Hopefully in the next day or two I'll have some answers from them. I'll post back once I get something to share!
It's a shame that after all this time, RWD cars are still terrible to drive well and FWD cars still handle the like super go-karts without any sign of understeer. I love the game but stuff like this is really annoying to see, I want to have fun with cars which are not glued to the road but it's a lot harder then it should be, RWD cars just have no grip at all and need to be looked at. Personally I would say a simple fix would be to keep RWD cars lose rear grip in corners only when your foot is on the gas, when not accelerating the car should grip up more. A fix for FWD cars would be to make them turn less sharp at high speeds so they understeer if taking a corner more then they do now. Gameloft fixed the wall riding issues but this one still needs sorting out.
I have to disagree with most of the sentiment regarding the differences between RWD and FWD cars.. I think maybe the differences people are seeing are a result of different steering/braking help and control settings? I play almost exclusively without the help and with separate brake and accelerator control (which is certainly required for proper line management) and find the differences as you move up the tiers and between FWD and RWD cars pretty realistic and challenging, especially as you get into more powerful cars. Your lines, braking and acceleration strategy has to change drastically depending on the type of car you're driving and if all you're doing is following the green path you're never going to get anywhere without fully upgrading every vehicle. I'm really enjoying the game, especially after getting a tier 5 and 6 car in the last couple platinum events. I'm not saying there's no need at all for some tweaking but I certainly don't see a need for drastic changes... just my two bits.
I agree. I had a difficult experience early on until I figured out a different tactic was required for the different types of cars. Which is a good thing really for an iOS game. They actually added some depth and variety and its actually all the better for it.
Thanks for the feedback Diablo. It's good to have different thoughts on the game balance so we can find the middle ground for everyone. Hopefully with the upcoming game updates we'll find a place where everyone feels the handling is realistic for both FWD and RWD vehicles.
I agree with this, for the most part. Needs an update badly. RR3 has put out two big updates since GTR2's release.
Is our game saved in the cloud on gameloft servers? So if I delete then re install I won't lose anything?
You should be ok, I deleted and re-installed just fine. First time you open the app after downloading again a message will appear asking you to restore from your last known progress or cancel. Make sure you restore. It will also show in the message more specifically, your last known $$ amount and the number of cars you owned.
If you've signed in with a social profile you have basically a unique ID on our server. This way you can get your information and restore it or go from one device to the other. I've been told by the team that you need to just go past the tutorial to get to the point of restoring your data or syncing it across another device. PS: Just want to let you all know I'll be going on vacation for 2 weeks on Friday so if I don't answer posts or PMs that's because I will be offline during that time. I'll be back the second week of January after Christmas/New Years!
Just a few highlights for people who haven't gotten a chance to update yet: -Added a 'Retry' button at the end of each race -New Daily Race events: Race with a different car every day and earn big coin bonuses -Improvements to controls -Bug fixes (trying to find out if I can get more specifics) -New biweekly multiplayer championship rules
Nevermind my rant. Issue is fixed, if you still get the error 9 message, go to car packs, and click restore purchases. That fixed the error 9 code. I'll post later to let everyone know if the leveling up bug has been fixed.
Touch controls are still terrible. I'm starting to wonder if anyone is even testing them. Still needs touch brake and gas option. The players who do not use tilt controls need an option like control scheme D. No auto accelerate for touch steering. The touch steering wheel is still terrible, all I can do is steer my car from side to side trying to find some "sweet spot" that isn't there.
