Yep, I was in on the soft launch. But here's the thing. They got a lot of feedback from the soft launch saying the rewards were too low for the upgrade prices. So between soft launch and full launch, they took the feedback on board and increased the payouts on most of the tiers, in fact it was harder to earn at soft launch. The platinum rewards are the same but I replayed the two platinums that have come up with the same cars I originally used at the exact same upgrade levels just to see if the difficulty increased in order to push upgrades but I found I completed them just as easily as I did the first time and can see no change there. There was some changes made obviously in the menu and series structure and some on how cars are bought but overall the rewards from both career and multiplayer increased significantly while, as far as I can see by just replaying events with the same cars at the same levels, the difficulty did not. They balanced it better in the end in that area and I find it even easier now than at soft launch. Plus I do like it that Ryan did a great job at passing feedback on and Gameloft listened. On A8, do save the coin doubler for when you have time. The game itself is great fun so the time will pass quickly but do save it up for when you have a bit of time and it does last for 24 hours so spread it out if you can. I know, life itself gets in the way, but it will give you a great return on series 8. Good luck with it. Gotta go now, it's the weekend and I'm Irish so the bar is calling wanting to know where its customers are. Have a good one.
Thanks for the tips Rip. I'm glad GTR2 worked out the way you wanted. I've got to give it a pass but I'll see you in A8 for now. Now throw a few back for me too will ya?
Been almost 2 weeks, any word on the error 9 fix yet? Is this a server side issue, or something that will have to be fixed via an update? Not being able to use multiplayer is a real drain on an otherwise brilliant game.
I'm pushing for an ETA on when the update that includes the fix for this error will be coming out. Haven't heard back yet though ): I'll keep letting the Devs know this is a big issue for a lot of players who are looking to get in to MP.
Without MP the game is starting to get boring, just grinding for more of the same. A pity because the game is very nice. : (
@gameloft Ryan I picked up GT2 on the soft launch as well and love the game. I looked back to past discussions and cannot find an answer to my question/problem. I recently fell from #5 to #7 on the global leader board earlier this week because all of my multiplayer races will not reward $$ or RP any longer! I've tried only being connected to Facebook, only being connected to GC and of course having both connected but still no change. When entering into a MP race, the entry fee cost is the same $$ reward if I come in 1st place. First place rewards me with 0 RP. My GC name is Tygart511 or Craig T. For Facebook if you want to confirm my position on the leaderboards. I did not cheat, manipulate, hack, jailbreak or jailbait (whatever it's called) this game on my iPad. In all honesty, I am not tech savvy to hack a game. However, I did pick this up on the soft launch with my NZ account but when it released in the US, I saved, deleted and downloaded from the US store. All of my progress was saved and had no problems with the game until a week and half ago. Can you make contact with the dev's on problems I'm experiencing? If this has been covered in previous posts, I apologize. I did look but did not see anything similar to my problem. Any help is appreciated!! FYI- I am a racing game fanatic and love GT2!
I experienced something similar. Increase my RP from 1500 to 1800 was an easy breeze in my Audi RS 5, but now I mostly get only 3 RP from an easy list of opponents. I do not get enough of medium and hard opponents to increase significantly. I am currently at RP 1925 and ranked around 30-something (< Fox-13 >). I guess the game slows you down to make it accessible for everyone to have a shot at the top 20. My only complaint would be that the game does not populate the leaderboard with the most skilled, but with the players that spend the most time on those races. Also, I have suggestion for Ryan: - maybe organize the team events so teams are built before the competition time, and prevent teams from changing their members (if so, disqualify them). Currently, a lot of people are just switching teams close to the finish time. Also, team score should be reset before the event, and race results only compiled during the event time. This would prevent a single individual to occupy the top position week after week.
There are a couple things that concern me in MP. One, people who have an equal or lesser AI controlled car can go much faster on straightaways for some reason. I have a fully upgraded RS 5 and on certain tracks I can take a turn at the exact same speed as another RS 5 and when we reach the straightaway they pull away really quickly. Another issue is the fact that I only seem to race certain people on specific tracks. If you always get matched up against people on, say, Topspeed Oval, they have a good chance of beating you with a less strong car just because of the way some of the faster cars are controlled by AI on that specific track. You should have a random chance of being assigned to a random track, not pre-determined.
I understand and that's why I'm working on getting the information from the Dev team. I agree in the fact that MP is a big portion of the game and getting it to work right should be a priority. I'm not sure why you're encountering this issue and it is also the first I'm hearing of players not getting rewarded for MP races. I'll make a note of it in my community report but I also encourage you to submit a ticket detailing this issue to our support team. They have direct access to the Dev team and give any gameplay issue reports straight to them. Here is a link: GTRacing 2 Ticket Link Interesting thoughts. I'll have to pass this along and see if there is a way to implement a system that is like this. The steering and braking assist features are there to help players who aren't as familiar with the sim racer genre still feel competitive and understand the ins and outs of perfect routes to maintain speed on the track. It shouldn't affect top speed/acceleration but there is a chance the other car takes a better route than you in the race, thus making it seem like the car is faster than yours. I'll make a note of it, but I would also appreciate it if anyone else is noticing this trend on MP to let me know. The more evidence I have the better case I can make for the Dev team to acknowledge the issue.
Ryan...My issue is similar to alacourse. The cost to enter the MP event used to be 18,000 with an earning of 36,000 now it costs 9900 with a payoff of 9900 every single cotton pickin' time! Lol! Not to mention a big fat 0 for RP for winning the race. Yes mind you I am in a upgraded Renault Trophy but all the time invested seems worthless. I appreciate you looking into this and I will take your advice and send a message to provided link. I'll keep you guys posted of any changes! Thanks again.
The currency rewards might have been tweaked, because the game economy is constantly being evaluated, but for the RP rewards I'd still suggest contacting support and letting them know about the issue. Again, I'll make sure to add this to my community report though and pass along the feedback
Rear drive unsteerable? Hello ryan, I purchased the platinium challenge car, the tier 1 toyota with rear wheel drive. When i use control type A, meaning to touch the screen to turn and a possible manual break in the middle, it makes the car acceleration completely bonkers.... The car only accelerates when i drive completely straight, a slight touch left or right makes it stop accelerating, very annoying! Can something be done? I want to keep using this type of control, i do not like turning my ipad to turn the car. Thanks Tupperware.
problem with support @gameloft_ryan Had a problem which maybe you could help me with. Tried contacting support and their answer was quite unsatisfactory. The problem is I purchased the 1200 $ for 9.99 a few days later I was going to select the mechanic that you start the game with and apparently my finger was just a smidge to low on the picture of the mechanic below and to my surprise it purchased the mechanic! Wiping out my remaining cash. Sent an email to support to ask for a refund on this and their answer was basically just "well we aren't responsible for that and that is how the game is supposed to be. So, tough luck". I think its just ridiculous that there isn't any kind of confirmation dialog box to make purchases. Hopefully there is something you can do. Thanks, Jason
I doubt if Gameloft told you tough luck but anyway, it's not their responsibility to refund you something (iap) that you purchased through the App Store. And it's something that they cannot do anyway. To refund you the in game currency would involve either altering your game save in some way, which they cannot do, or giving you 1200$ which would really just open the floodgates for people looking for extra currency for nothing. I'm not saying that is the case at all with you, but others attempt to manipulate the system. And just in case there is a misunderstanding, I don't mean you are attempting this at all but as I'm sure you understand, other less conscientious people do, which makes it difficult to deal with the genuine cases. iTunes support is who you need to contact if you want a refund on the iap purchase but that won't necessarily apply to the mechanic as that is part of your game save. Its debatable whether Apple would consider this a refund scenario considering the error was in relation to what you selected in the game and not in relation to the iap purchase but it is the only course of action you would have. Use the "report problem" tab on your receipt.
No I don't want the iap refunded. That's fine what I want refunded is the $500 that was spent in-game on a mechanic I didn't want. And no support did not literally say tough luck but they may as well have. Hello, Thank you for contacting Gameloft Customer Care. We are sorry to hear of the difficulties you have had in the game. Yikes, that doesn't sound good. I'll have to see if I can replicate this on my end. In the mean time though, for any issues contact our support team so that they can pass this information along to our Dev team. This way they will work on addressing this issue. I've included a link below for you to use GTR2 Support Ticket Link
Well, ultimately, I think you're gonna have to own this one yourself then. It was your finger after all that tapped the button. It may have been the incorrect button from your perspective but perhaps it will convince you to be more cautious next time and tap the correct button. Sometimes ones own mistakes cannot be rectified by others. It doesn't mean they are saying or implying tough luck, it just means it is beyond their field of control or influence. While I agree that a confirmation dialog button would be a useful addition, it wasn't your first mechanic so you were previously aware that there was none. They also, probably, do not have the ability to go in to your specific game save, remove the mechanic you didn't want and credit you back the game currency that he cost. That particular solution is open to far too much individual abuse whereby many I'm sure would see it as way of getting a great deal of in game equipment for nothing and is in all likelihood hugely time consuming. Sorry, but it was you're own mistake ultimately so I guess you're just gonna have to own it.
Mr Gameloft Ryan...see response from Gameloft below. At least they recognize and intend on correcting the MP problem. Hello, Thanks for contacting Gameloft´s Customer Care.
