Well, thanks for that. It proved that I'm significantly more skilled at these games than you. Despite your derogatory comments and tone, I'll take the compliment. Next time, you might try not being such a smart ass because all you've done is prove you can't play the game anyway and prefer something easy to play with an artificial ego stroking "difficulty" curve. And to insult those with actual skill.
Uh oh we have a bad ass here... I haz teh leet gaming skillz guyz!!! Yes I'm being a dick, but your opinion is one of the minority, since you're apparently gods gift to gaming ( a notable respectful life accomplishment by the way) but it doesn't mean the game is right in its demand for money from more casual or lesser "skilled" players
Thanks for the pointers. Sometimes it feels like the AI cars don't need to brake that much or they just speed up so fast after a turn that I hesitate to hit the brakes too much.
Thank God I'm not the only one. I too agree that this game is seriously more difficult than the other games you mentioned.
Yeah, the difficulty is definitely on the abusive side. Maybe you have to master each track to move forward, but given the sheer volume of events necessary to progress to higher tiers, way too much patience and time is required, unless you are willing to spend IAP to upgrade the car all the way. RR3 freemium mechanics might be more blatant, but at least the game itself is not as cheap.
What's with the reflections in the rear view mirrors on this game? Everything is smashed to be all narrow. Annoying.
Devs, are you planning on making all the cars from the Platinum Series available through purchase down the road? I missed out on the Dodge Challenger because there was one race I couldn't for the life of me get three stars on (the last qualification race). After wasting probably $120 or $140 on boosts for that one race, I gave up on it. Notice it hasn't been made available yet for ingame cash though - unlike the others that were before it. I could deal with some grinding to eventually get it down the road - but would be seriously disappointed if these Tier 0 cars were never made available for purchase for those of us who just can't get all 42 stars. Also, just wondering: is there a level cap on this game? Would have to get to high levels to afford some of the cars that are only available through ingame dollars.
The game syncs to our servers but that takes time and it could be the reason why you are getting the previous save state. I haven't heard anything back but Production is actively looking in to these two issues. The support team has been forwarding all the information regarding this issues so that they can be replicated on our end and fixed. The floating steering wheel is a feature we just added to Asphalt 8 so I'd imagine it could be coming to GTR2 with an update. I'm not sure though because I haven't seen what features are planned for the next update. Same thing goes for the steering wheel/brake/gas combo you mention. I'll be sure to pass this feedback along though. I don't know off hand if the cars will be available for purchase but I do believe that they will be rotated through the time limited events so that players can have a shot at winning the car again. I can ask to be sure though!
I understand the feeling. Back to soft launch, you wall-ride this track, but not anymore (thanks to the fix devs, honestly). Now you have to drive it right. The first turn left when leaving the harbour is a tough one to gauge right. If you break too early to lose speed too much, if you brake late, you hit the wall and lose speed, if you brake while turning you'll lose control. I find that if I break kind of late, and anticipate the turn with tilting my iPad early, I can increase my chances of entering the narrow path there. The same holds for the right turn at the end of the long straight. try to brake late and let go of the gas, using the natural friction of the car tires get fine tune your turning speed. Hairpin near the top: do not slow down too much, if you can avoid the wall, you'll have a good speed on the last rising slope. Left turn before the drop (hedges on the left): do not break! follow a wide turn and be as close as possible of the hedge at the apex. You'll be very fast on the way down. Next turn: tough one because it's kind on s-shaped. Hit the brakes a bit, but not too much there, try to just avoid the wall, but as fast as you can. last chicane between the 2 buildings: very tough. try to brake early to anticipate the turn. I often brake too late and end up hitting the second building. tips: - boosts are much more cost-effective than upgrades, but only if you use them sparingly... handling boosts are the most amazing!! use your friends. e.g.: handling boost can increase handling from 1.0 to 1.6, whereas an upgrade would only be from 1.0 to 1.04! I tend to upgrade my cars to level 3 and I can generally win up to champion level races in the career, except 2 or 3 races for which I will use boosts. Ex: in Tier 1, level 4 upgrades amounts to about 40000c, but using boosts costs about 2500c/race. This saves me a lot of coins, and limits the amount of grinding necessary. - in the weekly challenges: upgrade car to level 3 or 4 and use speed, accel and handling boosts if required.
Buggy-buggy Hey Gameloft_Ryan & co First, how's the error code 9 matter, solving? Haven't had a response yet from the bug guys. Second, when on my survolt or my tesla, they keep offering me a 50% discount on gearbox upgrade, I don't know, should I get that or what, what would you do? ;-))) Third, every now and then the app crashes when a Tokyo race loads, right now can confirm the qualification of the tesla bracket, can't remember if the rest were qualifications or backwards or forwards. Maybe it would be good to name those tracks Tokyo and Tokyo II, Oval and Oval II... don't know, could be helpful. Fourth, on the tesla and survolt brackets, the motor sounds during countdown are completely wrong, much, much worse than anywhere else. PS. Tokyo classic race, tesla bracket, crashed also. This one turns the other way around. Cheers
1 - Not yet, I actually just sent out another email asking about a few things people have posted on here and other social channels. I'm trying to get information so that I can relay it to you all 2 - I dunno man! It's up to you, I think it depends on how you want to progress through the game and how long you want to use various cars. Each person plays through the game differently! 3 - If you're experiencing crashes like this, please continue to let our support team know about these bugs. It's the best way to get information passed along to the Dev team so they can work on fixing issues. 4 - I don't anticipate the sounds to change unless it's a bug and it is some form of blood-curdling screech.
I just started playing this a couple days ago (I'm NineNines on Gamecenter, if anyone wants to add me), and I'm pretty sucked in now. Graphics are great and run smoothly on iPad4. So far, I find the game to be a good challenge, but not impossible. Very fair in that respect. While I'm sure that there will be some considerable grinding or IAP down the road, it hasn't been bad for the first 100 or so stars. Progress does get a little slow as you're starting out and waiting for upgrades. But once you get a second car that you can alternate back and forth with, that changes a great deal. So far, I've only used coins to purchase cars and upgrades. I'm still working on my strategy for using cash, and getting a feel for how easy it will be to earn going forward. But even just using coins, I'm finding that there's plenty to do to keep me busy. @Ryan, I do have a couple of requests that are hopefully doable. First off, I always prefer the tap controls, but in GTR2, the brake is in a terrible place for iPad users. We desperately need a customizable setup, preferably with two brake buttons that can be placed on either side of the screen for use with either thumb (exactly like in A8!). The other issue I've come upon is the name/avatar icons of the racers in front of you. I think this may have already been mentioned earlier in the thread, but I wanted to expand on it. They really do get in the way sometimes, and completely block your view of the track. I don't have a problem with them being there, but sometimes as you're catching up to an opponent quickly, they don't re-size properly and instead they just zoom in and get bigger and bigger until they're blocking a large portion of your view. Hopefully there's something that can be done to fix that. I think it's cool that the devs added their personas into the game, and I wouldn't want to take that away from them, but hopefully there's something they can tweak to make it so they don't get in the way as much. Thanks!
No, haha, 2 and 4 are because both cars are special: 2 is offering to upgrade something that the cars don't have, a gearbox, as both cars have just one gear. And 4, the cars are electrical and their engines are silent(-ish), shouldn't hear those noises before they move. Anyways, thanks for listening!
Ahh, my mistake on #2. For #4 though, that's just the sound design the Dev team decided to go with, hence why it probably won't change even if they are supposed to be quieter in real life
These floating controls/customizable controls are things I've touched on before and I've made sure to make a note of it and pass it along to the appropriate people. Same thing for the avatars for other racers in front of you Thanks for the feedback though!
Is there a way to hold the accelerator down before you start? I'm having trouble pressing it when the race starts. When it says "go," I have to tap it to make sure it registers and I lose time doing so.
