i'm pretty sure i have at a constant 25fps on my 4s (besides some small hickups i have short BEFORE the race starts).I'm quite picky with framerate and (again)i definitely had a worse experience with RR3 on both devices.Although i have to say there are MUCH more cars on the track in RR3.But that means nothing cause the AI is so dumb that you pass more than half of the field before you even enter the first curve. Not saying the AI is any smarter in GT2 but IF you get in trouble in both racer it's the first 5 places and not the 15 behind that ;-) iPad 2 is afair a bit faster than 4s by the way...
The games seems to save at the cloud, and not at the device, so of I'm offline all upgrade timers are reset, until I go online. Is there a way to stop this?
I am having some problem with syncing save file across devices. I play on ipad mini and have the latest save file. I wanted to sync the progress to my ipod touch but it only allow me to sync the save file which is like 6hrs ago and not the latest. Any idea how can i fix the sync problem so both devices will have the latest save.
I've had a similar issue. I found that if you leave the game in the background and don't turn it off the timer goes down normally. It may not be advisable to go online until the timer is up.
I have yet to try the latest version on my iPad 3 but while it was in trial the game ran rather well on it, it has the same cpu as a iPad 2 performance wise, they must have changed something if you are getting terrible drops. Even the HDMI out worked well enough.
Ok I'm out. The game is just too frustrating for me. Unless I really suck all of a sudden for some reason the game seems to be geared toward pushing you into upgrading the car a lot. I've been grinding away trying to upgrade the Clio just to get a few stars in the Platinum event only to get beat again and again by a wide margin. I just don't have the patience for a game like this right now. At the rate I'm going it will be weeks before I see tier 2. Maybe it's my lack of patience that is making me a crappy driver but I've never struggled with a racing game like this before and I've played just about any racing game you can think of. I found 2k Drive to be 10x easier to win with and that is a game that turned many people off by its difficulty. Sorry Gameloft, the rewards need to be a little more forthcoming for me to keep interested.
Thanks for thanking then. After being hit in the face by the L55 malediction (bug), I'm glad to anounce that I got unstuck, knock on wood, I reached L56. Hope it's easy to recreate, the bug, or very difficult for it to happen again. Regards, don't forget about the "Error code 9" issue, otherwise I won't be able to beat you at online MP!
Any word on the these issues? I suffer from both. I sent in an email request 3 days ago. Have heard nothing from support.
Gameloft Ryan, Having a great time with this one so far! I have one request however. In addition to having the steering wheel float to wherever your thumb goes down, is it maybe possible to have a control scheme with wheel, brake, AND gas, like RR3? Currently it feels awkward not being able to control the gas and only the brake pedal. Thanks for reading!
I have had this game for a while, I enjoyed it quite a bit but since it went 'final' I just watch the opponent's cars dwindle away over the horizon. Why does EVERY racing game have to be destroyed by bullshit monetization schemes? For the love of God just let us buy the damned game and enjoy it already. F2P, Freemium, and IAP are ruining the iOS/Android gaming scene.
Would really like an option for a manual acceleration and brake pedal while using the virtual steering wheel. I get better control with a manual gas pedal and virtual steering option. Also the steering with the virtual steering wheel is very sensitive and as the other guy mentioned, oddly placed. Other than that it seems pretty good. This is a great racing sim, love it.
Agreed!! Honestly this is all that's keeping me from switching 100% to GT2 from RR3. That and tweak the sensitivity of the steering a bit, I have to turn it down to 0 in order for it to not get too squirly.
Since it went global it has become less fun. Cars are locked away behind stars, didn't used to be like that, and it keeps nagging me to update. I was driving in the current platinum event and it sucked! My Clio has all level 4 upgrades and 1 level 5 upgrade. I was still coming up short on the oval, the number 1 car was a bit faster (he was about 27 meters ahead). I restart the race and buy a speed upgrade and suddenly I can't even come close to the number 1 car (he was about 65 meters in the lead). How is that possible? The qualification in group 3 is also infuriating. I can't even make the finish line! It is one of the few tracks I got the achievement for perfect corners for so it it not like I suck at the track so bad that I shouldn't be able to finish it within the set time limit.
Ahahahaha, oh, God, my sides - oh Christ you're serious. Also possibly 1) insane, 2) so good at racing games you simply don't know what "easy" or "difficult" are any more. Asphalt 8 - pre-upgrade, anyway - was far, far easier than this. Ditto Real Racing 3. I been playing for the past couple of hours, I have spent every single bit of money I've earned on upgrades, I've been grinding already and every time I try the final race in the very first series I still can't get above fifth, not to mention 6th, 7th etc. are right on my tail. I don't care what I might be doing wrong; Real Racing 3 was not this difficult. That's about as close to a statement of fact as you can get - they're practically the same damn game by default (tilt steering, assists on, slightly more realistic handling model etc.). I can see how people would enjoy it if they've got the patience, or significantly better skills, or current-gen devices (the framerate on an iTouch 5G is pretty horrible far too often). But yeah, it is a significantly harder game than the competition, and it is pushing you to upgrade much more often. Also, just a thought, but personally I didn't give up on 2K Drive because the game itself was too hard; I gave up because when those, uh... interesting controls meant I couldn't even do a proper handbrake turn more than once every twenty tries there didn't seem much point in trying any more.
Does anyone have any pointers or perhaps a video for Lake Como? I can't even finish the track in 2.17 and I need at least 2.15 for a 3rd place. Finishing at 2.10 for first place seems like a ridiculous goal at the moment.
Lake Como is all about braking and clean lines. You absolutely cannot bang off walls. You HAVE to break properly. This was my least favorite track when the game soft launched. Now it's one of my favs.
Remember that how you drive, how you corner and when you brake all effect your lap times, keeping clean and taking a different line into a corner can save you seconds. Not saying that is the problem but it's important especially in this game. The AI can be rather good or bad, some tracks they brake in the wrong zones and you can power through and past a load of cars, some tracks they seem to the same to yourself especially in RWD cars, the worst vehicles to drive in this game when all the other cars handle like go-karts.
Sorry, but... "Thanks, tips." It is a great engine, but the game has been tuned way too deep into a person's wallet. Yes, there are people who can differentiate between arcade and sim, this game ends up being neither. I had around 25 Plats in Project Gotham Racing, but I guess I don't know how to drive now - I guess I need to buy enough IAP to replace the missing spark plugs. This game is WORSE than RR3 for money gouging. They had the chance to show us how a premium business model could sell gangbusters, but instead they soft launched a dirty nuke.
