Thanks 'Jeep, at least someone understands what I was trying to do! I wanted to keep it simple, have people to better by learning the controls and courses rather than upgrading some spurious feature before some other spurious feature. Hopefully the Leaderboards will help more people realise this. How many "beat the beta testers" achievements do you have?, I only have five more to collect before I've posted a faster time on every level than we did during beta testing in October. I really thought you were using some variant of (D), which I've been trying myself (along with a little F) and managed to claim back the hiscore for Twin Peaks, knocking you off the top overall score God knows how my kids manage to do level 13 so quickly, I really waste boost, by being unable to use it up, while negotiating the steep shortcut. I also don't see where Jack gains 7 seconds on Orienteering.
You need 50% to be able to start a boost but it burns all the way down to 0%, I did it this way so that someone holding the boost pedal wouldn't get a tiny boost every few seconds.
Pm. Not sure I understand your D then, which reads to me like you could start a boost below 50%, although that isn't what D recommends.
A: If you just hold the button it will wait for the boost to get to 50% and let it burn to 0% you will be going through gates with between 0 and 50 'boost', each gate gives 10% extra boost. This means that you will get something between 0 and 5 extra 'boost units' at each gate depending on where the boost gauge is at that moment. D: If you wait for the boost to get to 100% and only burn to 50% you will get the same length boosts as above but the 10% extra at each gate will be far more significant, giving between 5 and 10 extra 'boost units' which means the boost gauge will fill up quicker and you can use it slightly more often and/or get slightly longer boosts, giving you a quicker time.
!!! Totally did not realize that amount of boost earned was related to how much you have!!! So...if it's above 50% I will earn more per gate. COOL!!!

11 beat the beta testers, 56 achievements. Congrats on Twin Peaks!!!! (Enjoy it while it lasts! ) I had started working on D+F, but then OF came and I had to give all the tracks a go for testing, so now that I'vedone that I'll go back to working all tracks and setting "absolute records". (for me that's when all my times for a particular track show exactly the same times, which I thouht I did before for quite a few of them only to later discover new tactics or shortcuts, and faster times! ) 13 is killing me, I'm still far from 3 clean laps, I only once managed to clear the hill without crashing 3 times in a row, and that's my score as it stands! As for 14, I know I have a few options to explore but I need almost 6 sec per lap!!!!!!! Greg, I think you're right about the 50%, Hadn't really thought about it so I might start using it when all my highscores are gone! Taking tonight off. (Well maybe a quick go at track 6 )

I've played it far too much today. I now have all of the "beat the beta testers" achievements, something I wouldn't have thought possible back in October. I'm now several seconds clear of you on the total time but you are still at the top of the lite total list. I'll try to fix that tomorrow
Glenn now has the high score for completing all the levels - 38:13.11. Does anyone think it would be worth offering a prize to beat it or is it just impossible?
Ground Effect Lite is in the app store It's not showing up on a search yet but it should be there if you follow this link It's basically the first four levels of the full game complete with Openfeint leaderboards and achievements.
I won't compete... I'll beat him just for kicks!!!!!! I now have mixed feelings about playing this: I am afraid to ruin Glenn's private life, and social life... After all, you know what? I don't care! I have already beaten 38:13.11, I'm just not near wifi at the moment. kidding!
Hmm... Sounds as though you're copping out! Now that the free version is out, maybe you'll both get some real competition!

The Lite is the first four levels and shares these Leaderboards with the full version. The 'Total time lite' leaderboard is the total time for the first four levels. Another forum poster, Winter413 seems to have just upgraded and is hot on our heels on the Total time Leaderboard. @Der-Kleine, thanks for changing the front page post.
