Thanks GlennX for the clarification! I would be interested in the bonus question just for kicks.

    OK, I'll ask it anyway.

What is the connection between the answer to Pam's puzzle and the classic ST/Amiga/PC RPG Dungeon Master?

lol no a bit young at :p I actually had the 'e' and 'r' too

    Glennx,
thanks for the explaination. This update sounds amazing! Apple's gonna HAVE to feature it because i've never seen a 3d app. I'm curius, how does 3d even work? I know when you take off your glasses during a 3d movie, every thing is like all distorted and stuff. If you dont feel like answering that here (or at all) then you can just like pm me or ignore me :)

Oh and the bonus question is in unfamiliar terrority for me. Havent played any 'old' games such as dungeon master.

I spent a long time with a lot of people tuning the sensitivity. I must have got it close to right because I have a roughly equal split of people demanding more AND less sensitive controls! The rev, which will hopefully be passed by Apple in the next few days, has a slider that lets players tune it for themselves.

If you want to buy Ground Effect for $0.99 do it before the rev is released :)

In dungeons and dragons there are weapons called the vorpal blades which are derived from the poem. Wikipedia has a lot of video games that have some derivative items from that poem. Heres the link :)

    Magic - I salute you! :)

Now, we just have to hope that the original winner is prepared to pass the crown to you! Or, if you're really keen, you could just buy Ground Effect for a mere $0.99 in the knowledge that you'll be getting a great game with cool updated features soon.

    :)

I actually would prefer if the original winner took the code for himself. If he doesn't want it... :)
Has the update been submitted yet? How long before the price jumps back up (I need to go get a itunes card to buy :)

The rev video is up on Youtube. The compression has messed with the quality of the stereo 3D section slightly. This should be better when Youtube has finished processing and the HD version is available but rest assured, it looks better on the screen of the phone than it ever could after being filmed on a fairly basic camera and then compressed and recompressed by iMovie and Youtube!

This version requires red/cyan (red/blue) glasses, other shorter, all stereo-3D videos will be uploaded tomorrow for all the supported lens types.

The video also shows all of the other features of the rev.

ugghh I reaaly want this but I dont have any money. Are there any upcoming promo code contests or at least when does the sale go to.
BTW I didnt notice any differnce watching the 3d part of the video, and yes I had the right glasses on. I'm not sure exactly how much of an effect there is supposed to be. Besides that the update looks awesome.

Wow...just wow! You've really made a GREAT game here. Can't wait for the update.

Question: Noticed the "for faster devices" disclaimer. I've heard that the iPhone 3G (my device) is slower than the previous version. Will 3D work okay my 3G?

Thanks for having a look :)

The sale goes on until the update is approved, so probably a couple of days. There are no promo code contests planned yet, but when I next open a bottle of wine, who knows... :)

Can't think why you didn't notice the difference - maybe the video needs a little more time to process on YouTube as it's only just been uploaded.

3D stereo mode has to draw everything twice (once for each eye) which is quite demanding of the graphics chip!

It works on the 3g, runs at the same speed (Ground Effect always does) but is noticeably jerkier which means you are unlikely to get your best times using it. It's significantly more playable on the 2g Touch and completely playable at a solid 30 FPS on the 3gs and 3rd gen Touch.

Ground Effect is primarily designed to run in standard mode and v1.1 is even faster than v1.0.

Sorry I'm late getting back, I went to bed... I didn't realise my offer would create so much discussion!

I'm happy for Magic to get the code, although his question was easier ;)

You sound like good guys and the game looks interesting so I'll buy it anyway. 59p is not going to break the bank.

Yes, things took an unexpected turn :) Thanks for your generosity - hopefully Magic will get in contact to claim his prize, otherwise you might have to suffer another one of my puzzles as there's not much on tv tonight either :)
