Best hover racing title ive bought yet. And the cheapest!!! Graphics more detailed Low Grav Racer ($2.49) Gameplay more fun than Phaze ($5.99) Controls more fluid than Synth racer ($1.19) This game is honestly within the top 3 of all apps ive bought, keep up the good work devs!
I haven't tryed synth racer, but the other two, compared to Ground Effect, I'd say are really, really boaring!

Ehh... Low Grav Racer 1 was weak. The other two I've never played. However Low Grav Racer 2 which came out last night is the best "hover" racing game. Much better and exhilarating than Ground Effect. I was highly anticipating Ground Effect and probably one of the first to get it when it came out. Deleted it after a few races. It just lacked excitement and entertainment.
Hey Glenn! Ground Effect deserves to be in the charts and visible! I'm waiting for updates - you gotta put that engine to use! (yeah we seem to be in completely different forums cos our games are so orthogonal!!)
Just going to throw in my positive reactions... This game is fantastic. It's a better racing game than so many out there. It's refreshing and i love the graphics with this. To me, i interpret them as tropical, and love the turquoise waters and the light green hills and beaches.. Lov grav racer let me down, and this game is much better for many reasons. If anyone's holding out, I guarantee your $ will be better spent on this than any other racing game for the same price. The dev seems active enough for you to warrant an investment, not just a purchase. Yes there are some changes that need to be implemented, but they are minor tweaks of an already great product!
I've just got the bumper view camera working. I have to say, I was kind of skeptical about this as I've always been a fan of seeing your on screen vehicle moving around in driving games, giving visual feedback on drifting or whatever. I've always thought the hardcore "give me a first person view or nothing" attitude was completely wrong headed and have to say that if it wasn't for feedback from several posters in this thread, I would never have included it as an option. The weird thing is that since I got the new camera working properly I found myself playing through almost the whole game in one session. Something I haven't felt the urge to do for a while now. It feels like a completely different game! So much more immersive. I now know where you guys were coming from. I have to say that this feature has gone from being something I was only adding to appease a few control freaks to being the most significant gameplay improvement in the rev. Huge thanks to everyone who asked for it! Just a slight shame that me playing the game is delaying the rev slightly because I should have been programming

Is there any way you can add some nice palm trees and a beachy, easy, lazy, and slightly curvy race level? it'd be cool to have a nice zone-out level after you're done stressing out over the last race... and now i trust your taste in music, so i expect something chill but awesome! Glad to hear bumper cam is working well and that u like it I like having the choice and depending on the tasks presented by the game I will change the view. Can't wait for the update!
Ground Effect 1.1 has been submitted to Apple. It features OPTIONAL 3D stereo mode - Supports Red/Cyan, Yellow/Blue & Green/Magenta glasses as found in DVD/blu-ray boxes this Christmas. First Person Camera option - As I said yesterday, I love this, thanks for demanding it. Control sensitivity adjustment for both Tilt and Touch control options. Cruise mode - Explore levels without racing, even those you haven't unlocked yet. Listen to your iPod music - This was always possible but it's easier to use in this version UI Redesign - nothing major but an improvement. Faster frame rate - I made a few optimisations in the course of speeding up the 3D mode, these have made the standard mode even smoother. Improved lighting - This was subtly broken in game but hard to spot and completely missing from the craft select screen. Many bug fixes - The most significant being the one where some people never found most of the options menu before getting frustrated with the game! Let's hope Apple get round to reviewing it before Christmas. If you want to get the game for $0.99 buy it before the rev is released!
I want a beach theme too & I'm hoping Glenn will give in & do it in the next rev, but I'm pretty powerless when it comes to the game development side of things. However, when it comes to the music - I can help; I haven't had time to sort out the legalities of adding new music yet (it's complicated & time-consuming) but will definitely have some cool stuff soon. In the meantime, if you know of any indie artists that might fit the bill, please let us know.

Wow! That's a really generous offer! I didn't realise you were a musician too! This is really cool - but maybe a little too slow & trippy for Ground Effect. You should definitely use your music in a game though as it would lend itself perfectly to all sorts of genres. I'm building up my artist database for the future so I'd welcome any more suggestions anyone has.
Yes - you're probably right - its maybe a little too psychedelic for GE. But who knows, maybe I can use it for some other type of game. You guys need some really strong techno/trance type stuff - probably similar to what is in Wipeout, with heavy beats.
