I’m at the other end of the scale when needing help. How do you replay the tutorial? This one one of the first game I played on AppleArcade. Since then I have downloaded over 50 games and tried them all a bit. I came back to this game and now I just keep dying because I totally forget how to play.
so you got to draw attack chains with your finger, from one enemy to the next. tap an enemy next to your warrior. then tap an enemy next to it with the same color (or draw a line over multiple enemies). you can try different paths before you hit GO. if you manage to pull off a chain of 10 or more enemies, a gem appears. if you include that in your path you can then change the color of enemies you attack and create longer chains. some enemies and obstacles need more hits, indicated by a number next to them - e.g. you first have to draw a 10-chain to attack a 10hp enemy. some of those bigger enemies also allow you to change the color after you hit them... i‘m sure, you‘ll figure out the rest from here... i‘m at level 28 atm and loving it... i also miss the ability to listen to your own music and i‘m not sure if the savegame properly syncs across devices...
level30: just make your path and end it on the boss(same as leaving the other levels). you could end every turn on the boss and the boss energy will reduce by the length of path until 0
Not related to gameplay, its mechanics or overall quality whatsoever. Is there any justification for this game being 2,18GB? It’s by far the biggest game on my device ATM with approximately 40 games installed. I’m neither developer nor programmer to have knowledge of this kind of stuff. I’m not complaining either. I’m just curious WHY. Is it because of bad optimization of some sort? It doesn’t run on intense 3D engine or needs hires textures. I’m just confused what could possibly be the reason for such file size. Anyone?
So keep in mind this is 100% speculation on my part, but a few years back Apple introduced something called "app slicing" or "app thinning" which basically meant that when you downloaded an app it would only download the assets for the particular device you were downloading it on. My guess is that for whatever reason this isn't working (yet?) on Apple Arcade games, which is why so many of them have such hefty file sizes. There's assets for all different iPhone devices, all iPad devices, Apple TV (possibly including 4k assets), and Mac in every Apple Arcade game rather than just the assets you need for each particular device. If that's not the case though, then I couldn't tell you what the heck is going on, as it's not just this game but pretty much every Apple Arcade game has been much larger than I've expected it to be.
@Boardumb this is actually very possible! I remember this feature being introduced back in the days and thinking about it now, this could be exactly the problem. Kudos to you! Let’s hope Apple is aware of it and fixing it as we speak. It’s not that terrible considering 128GB devices are pretty much standard these days as well as high-speed internet connections, but still. Why being forced to download much more if I don’t have to, am I right?
Interesting if that’s the case I hope it’s something they rectify as the game files are huge and when I complete them it makes me think of offloading them rather than keeping them around to play more or hoping for an update. If I offload a game I don’t get told about updates for it anymore do I?
Unless you have an old version of iTunes installed on your pc that still includes Apps in its menu. It shows you what games you have purchased in the past that need to be updated.
What gear are you guys using? I’m at level 121 and my setup is: standard arrow, jump potion, dashy sword and grindstone garb. I’m pretty sure jump potion and grindstone garb are the best gear, borderline OP, I’m not sure about the rest. Also as much as I like the game, I feel it’s a bit too long. I would have preferred, if they made 100 levels it total and cut the fat. A lot of levels are a bit same-y and don’t add too much to the experience.
Anyone holding out on checking this out because of the huge file size. They just reduced it from like 2.2gb to 879mb
@ste86uk edit: yeah, I assume this is the first of many AA games making a correction to their file sizes. It’s about time.
I really hope so, so it’s easier to fit more on. Sounds like whoever said it about the file size being for all devices not just your specific one might be correct.
Ahh.. maybe Im an idiot but how do I get more batwings? Ive been replaying some levels over and over but I never find them. I want to replenish my jump jar...
Does anyone knows if the soundtrack is available? There are some great tunes in the game. Suspenseful and nerve-wracking. I’d love to listen to them outside the game as well. EDIT: nevermind, found it. Apple Music | Spotify Replay levels where it’s clearly shown the batwings are your reward. Those are the levels with bat caves in it (where you need a chain of 12 to destroy them)
I’m in love with the music too! https://open.spotify.com/album/0akye5qYKtCG4ktOJFITEg?si=YUsRHwnlQXKv2S8Bvr-xLQ
In the meantime I found it on Apple Music by myself. Thank you anyway. It’s already playing in the background while I’m typing this. It’s AWESOME!
Me too! But my one minor complaint, my fave track is not on the album... (the one starts playing after you open the door in any level, just because of its hype I stay for the chests haha)
