Stream to your APPLE TV?!?! Also had no clue this game controlled with a keyboard so MFi support is a must
I can't play it with my ipad 4... I own it since one year and a half. It's too short to call it "old device". I'm so frustrated!
The requirements, perhaps. The size? Not at all. This is a game with tons and tons of 2D background art, cutscenes, hours of voice work and over 2 hours of developer commentary. The PC version was close to 4GB and I'm honestly shocked this is just close to 3GB considering it's universal and whatnot.
Why ? It was a massive game on PC and came on a dvd. People will moan if the game is dumbed down too much without lots of the major assets. Instead as metalcasket says its near enough a full version of the original. We should applaud stuff like this rather than mobile getting a 'lite' version
It's not near enough, buddy. It's the original version PLUS a shitload of stuff. Also, for anyone wondering, it came on 2 CDs back in the day.
Yup. I too still have the CD-ROM of this and the second and latest LucasArts Monkey Island games. As for the strict requirements to play it, developers should at least make a game run well on the two most recent generations so in that regard, they've succeeded as this only runs on the Air and Air 2 along with either of the two Retina Minis, which are basically the same device.
I do too. One of the biggest regrets of my life is throwing away the old-school cardboard box, but I still have both discs nestled safely in their digipack thing and the manual right next to them.
It is ridicoulous not being able to play DOS games from 1998 on device that can probably emulate 5 DOS games at same time.I have been a long time iOS user and never seen ridicoulous requirements like this. But ignore me, just being sad for not being able to play this on go.
Where does it say you must have a 64 bit processor or can't use an iPad 4? On my iTunes the compatible devices list is quite long. The only thing that might be a problem for some is the 3.3 gb.
But many MAME games dont work properly on Gridlee for example. Even though its an old DOS game its a large dos game and its not just a case of pressing 'publish'. Obvoiusly these games werent built for touchscreens and must need a fair bit of working. Even though many phones are much more powerful than an old PC from 1995 etc its not easy to transfer a game from say a PC format from 1995 to an iphone nowadays
