Gridrunner's a blast, and the best shooter on iOS" - EurogamerVoted Game of the Week on TouchArcadeHere's another slick shooter from the developer who is rapidly gaining a reputation as the king of retro on iOS.Gridrunner was a much-loved and popular game on the Commodore Vic-20 and Commodore 64 back in 1982. Here the game is reimagined by its original author in the style of an early 1980s coin-op arcade machine. Of course this is a Minotaur Project game, so we ignore the limitations of such old hardware, borrowing just the style but presenting a slick, modern shooter that is a joy to play on iOS.As can be relied on in a Llamasoft game the controls are excellent and the gameplay fun, satisfying and rewarding.Gridrunner is OpenFeint enabled and supports leaderboards and achievements on both OpenFeint and GameCenter.Get your blasting trousers on and get ready to enjoy some classic shooting fun re-energised for the modern era.Another great Minotaur Project release. Whenever I loaded it up I would try and work out what I was supposed to do and always give up after about 10 minutes of watching coloured squares changing their colours. I don't think there were any instructions inside the box. This game seems a little bit more understandable. Shoot things and don't get shot! Please download it and give it a shot. Maybe if we can send enough warm fuzzies Jeff's way he might come back to iOS... smes3817 Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2009 1,120 8 38 Massachusetts, USA #7 smes3817, Apr 13, 2015 I wouldn't be able to contain my excitement... He obviously is a brilliant game designer who knows how to create awesome games. Hopefully he will see this thread. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,747 543 113 England #10 psj3809, Apr 14, 2015 The problem is this thread is about his game being free ! Why didnt people buy this game previously ? I spoke to him at a show in England and he said he just didnt make enough money on his iOS games, thats why he moved to the Vita. If more people had bought his games we would have had more great Minter games. Usual story, dev puts a lot of work in, doesnt get the sales back to make it worthwhile. Thats why i find these 'this games now free, lets all get it' (vulture) threads depressing. A few quid for some of Jeffs games and we might be sat here talking about his new game tkphotos Well-Known Member Jun 10, 2011 115 0 0 #11 tkphotos, Apr 14, 2015 get this for free then buy the rest quantumsheep Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2009 1,143 0 0 The Head Cheese, Top Dog, Numero Uno Honcho, Quant London http://www.quantum-sheep.com #12 quantumsheep, Apr 14, 2015 Mr. Minter's a big hero of mine - ooh, for almost 30 years now I buy all his stuff. I even bought a Vita primarily to play TxK on it (and it was so so worth it!) So yeah - grab this for free - say 'thanks' if you like it (and you *should* like it!) by trying his other games out!
