Help! I'm marking myself as a complete n00b, but I'm beside myself with frustration. Last night I inadvertently mapped the "A" button in the games menu of MAME4iOS 1.3 aka "Gridlee" to "none", with the result that I could no longer select and run games. Because I had saved the Gridlee .ipa to an external drive on my computer, I was able to save my rom collection to this drive, delete the Gridlee app from my iPad 4, and reinstall the app via iFunbox. However, upon running the reinstalled app, repopulating the rom folder with my rom collection, and closing and then reopening the app, I found not the anticipated games menu, but Gridlee's title screen flanked by the distinctive black joypad, lone red "B" button, and lone black "coin" and "start" buttons of the app's initial configuration. No amount of closing and reopening the app has produced the games menu. Is there something that I've been overlooking?
After two days of recalcitrance, Gridlee finally produced the games menu. It looks as if I'm back in the game. One question I do have, however: how do I prevent the joystick from adjusting the master volume? This is the quandary that led me to my mistake.
In the future if you need to reset buttons you can just delete some config file instead of reinstalling. I can't remember exactly which, but someone figured it out earlier in this thread. For the volume that shouldn't happen by default if you go to options -> input general -> other controls scroll down there's settings for vol up and down. If those are bound to something you can press "exit" to bind them to "none." If not you've got some other issue.
I think you are supposed to launch the game Gridlee first, shut the app down (or restart) and then the menu should be there. Same thing happened to me once.
Hello my fellow old game fans. I didn't know about this until today. Check the first comment to today's front page story on Touch Arcade for a good tip. Seleuco if you still read this thread, is it possible to get one of your more recent mame versions running in this fashion?
Oh geez one click, no-jailbreak SNES, DS, etc. emulation been around since at least May, possibly earlier. Touch Arcade puts it on front page and it gets taken down the next day. I gots my R-Type III and Yoshi's Island I'm good to go.
SiOS is still working for me. I don't understand any of this but I guess a certificate expires/gets revoked and you're done for? If mine stops working like it has for you I'll go ahead and jailbreak. SNES on the train is too good.
Gridlee Pepper II and Venture both old Exidy games does not work on the iMame, do they work on Gridlee?
If it don't work, just change the date of your idevice to 2012. Then launch the app for it to work. You can then set the date back to 2013 and still have a working app.
Hey does gridlee come with everything? All we need is purchased roms we have around our house to get on this?
Oh oh not the dreaded rom debate Gridlee had iCade support from the start which is great, Gridlee+iCade is one of the best things ever ! As for roms then there are several sites with freeware roms on them you can use. As for any other roms thats a huge huge grey area so we dont obviously talk about fight clu, i mean we dont talk about romsites !
