OK well, put it back so I can download it!! Seriously though, what can a latecomer do? I just got my first iPad yesterday, and the first thing I did was search for a mame solution, only to find out I'm a few days too late. Hopefully it can be slipped in again as Alien Arena or a similar public domain name. I'll keep searching the store for Teeter Torture.
Whys it pathetic ? Dont get me wrong i LOVE the app but its not pathetic to stop an emulator on the app store which allows you to use all these arcade games is it. Imagine Dotemu and their Metal Slug releases, Gridlee would badly affect their sales. Other companies might think 'we wont bother re-releasing this arcade classic now' due to Gridlee. There'll be a lot of people here i bet who wont bother buying the Metal Slug games (for example) because they can play them for free on Gridlee. Again i love the app but i always buy any old arcade app to help the devs (even if its in Gridlee). Imagine you're a dev and you've just paid say $30k to get the rights to a set of old arcade games, you're about to release them to iOS and then a few days later Gridlee appears which feature these arcade games for people to download on the net for free to play on their ipods. You would be devastated as you know you'll lose out on a lot of money. Theres lots of people who wait for games to be free (then moan when devs dont create more and more games! Perhaps they dont as theyre not making as much money), these types of people are the types not to buy any arcade iOS games and would rather get them for free to use on Gridlee etc. So i'm in a strange position as i LOVE Gridlee and use it to play games which arent available on iOS, but games such as Metal Slug etc i buy the actual version from the app store. If Gridlee stayed on the app store how many downloads would be lost due to various arcade apps or compilation apps ? LOTS Pathetic ? Not at all, very sensible by Apple. They're helping to protect iOS devs and their future revenue
Well, someone has managed to sneak it onto the AppStore twice now so I imagine it will eventually happen again.
Did anyone manage to get Knights of Valour 2 working?? I tried a lot of rom... non of them are working one..
