I've spoken with a few other devs I am friends with. Their feeling is that putting Gridlee in the App Store *is* legitimate (there are several other emulators in the App Store). Also, the fact that you can "hack in" additional games through a back door approach is not going to be a common practice; the game doesn't even advertise that ability.

So, my dev friends feel that Apple will not pull Gridlee from the store...which would be fantastic, as we'd be able to get future updates!

Very cool. I was thinking the same thing. By having the app create the needed files after installation and being run for the first time it doesn't appear to be an emulator.

An update would be killer... not that it needs one, but if there is ever a need, the door has thus far been open.

Just wanted to let the folks know who ordered modded icade cores off me that the parts finally arrived today. I am at work right now (extreme-mods.com) but will be doing the modding after work. I did notice the sanwa joysticks have a plastic sleeve on them over the metal shaft. It can be removed easily by just unscrewing the ball top and removing the sleeve, but wanted to alert folks just in case.

I've been following your posts about the modded iCade Core and I love what you did with it. I hope to do the same at some point, I have young kids so I'll try the Sanwa parts once they beat up the buttons and joystick enough to warrant replacement and knowing them it'll be within 6 months! LOL

I wonder if I could bring my Core to an computer repair place to solder the joystick wires for a nominal fee. I have no problem altering the button holes for the 30mm Sanwa myself, I just have zero experience soldering and would rather have an expert do it for me.

    That's great news!
I really look forward to mine. :)

Cool web-shop you have, btw. Lots of cool stuff there. Amazing skins for everything game related.

I'm not a dev, but I've been following the app store for a long time. Seleuco has done it perfectly: released it as Gridlee, has the authorisation of the owners to release it (stated in the app description), etc. I don't think it will be pulled out from the app store any time soon because it doesn't infrige any app store rules.

Jtfields just told you the risks of begging for Roms on this site, and you proceed by saying, sorry 'bout that, and continue asking for Roms.

Everything you need to know is explained in the first 10-15 pages in this thread, or you could follow jtfields advice and google "139u1 Mame roms".

Many of us have had unsolicited requests for roms in our inbox here, and your question have been asked and answered many, many, many times in this thread, so it's understandable, I think, when patience runs dry...

I completely understand the frustration when someone new to this wants to get it working, as this app is amazing when everything is set up correctly, but I will expect people to read a good portion of this thread, before asking for help with the very basics.

2 down one last one to go. The first two didn't take too long to assemble. After you've done it a few times they get easier and easier. Just one more left and then i can call it good for the night. Also i'm testing them out with street fighter 2 to be sure all the buttons work as they should.

Ok they are all done. What a messy adventure that was. My workshop has shards of plastic everywhere. Lol. It's ok they all turned out great and are fully tested, boxed and ready to ship out tomorrow. Wish I had gotten the parts Friday instead of today, it would have given me something to do with my weekend. Ill try to post some pictures here in a few.

I have walk through on the regular roms for Gridlee, but I never heard of play choice. Maybe I will do one once I investigate. Just google my username and gridlee and you'll see my tutorial. I have over 150 mame roms on my iPad 3 and iPhone 5.

I have the icade now and love it. Thanks for the game suggestions in the posts.

I stay away from the 3D games. The 2D work flawlessly.
