    Well, I have some ROMs loaded and working well, my thanks to all who've helped me!

    Something strange though. I have 139u ROMs for a couple games that don't work. One of them is Marvel vs. Capcom. I have 11 ROMs for this, for versions ranging from Hispanic to Brazilian. All of them are loaded into Gridlee. When I try to load any of them, I get the ROM/CHD error. Okay, fine. When I load the USA 980123 ROM, though, it loads, initializes, then puts me back into the MAME ROM list. No error message. The same hppenes with King of Fighters '94.

    Thoughts?

    I am told that MVSC works in this application, but have not found the Rom that works.
    Anybody could help me sending me a PM with the download link of it?

    Just thought I'd post this for anyone else having calibration issues with the virtual gun on operation wolf 3. Go to the service menu and activate the calibration. For the top right position, move the analog stick until it reads 100,100. For the bottom left, go all the way down left. Note, even though the analog stick stops moving, the number can still go down. Go all the way until the numbers stop moving.

    This will result in the resting place I the cursor being slightly lower than center, but pretty much horizontally centered. I'm sure with more monkeying around I could get it perfectly centered, but its good enough for me.

    Just got the icade cores in today and the parts have been ordered. The estimated time of arrival for the sanwa parts is 7-9 days.

    I was lucky enough to grab iMAME during the short time it was available but I never did anything with it. Now that I have most of the games I want running on the iPad 2 using Gridlee, I'm thinking about setting up iMAME on my iPhone 4 (.139u1 just doesn't run well on the 4). One of the most helpful things in getting my games running on Gridlee was being able to snag the ROM set mentioned in these forums where each ROM had all the necessary files to run so that you don't have to worry about BIOS/Parent/Child relationships. Does such a set exist for iMAME (I believe it runs .37b5)?

    I have a question:

    Image 1 shows X Rom running Gridlee landscape mode in a 4-generation iPod without full screen.
    Image 2 shows Gridlee running X Rom in landscape mode on an iPhone 5 without full screen.

    As you can see, Gridlee shown much better iPod 4, since the buttons fit better and do not cover so much of the screen.

    The question is. Is it possible to make it look like the iPod 4 on the iPhone 5??

    Dang, missed this. Is this a one-time only offer, or could I still get one in a couple weeks (when I get paid again)?

    Is there any way to get MK2 working smoothly? Tried it on my iPad 2 and it is very choppy and the sound is shredded to hell. Does anyone have some tips for settings?

    For anyone with iMpulse controller:

    Does it work with Mac? can you play games with it on your Mac?

    For anyone with other controllers like iControl pad:

    Can you play 2 players with 2 iControl pads like with iMpulse controllers?

    Anyone else have basic questions about getting Gridlee to work? I'm trying to help a bit. PM me.

    Also I wanted to recommend this somewhat obscure game to folks:

    Gaia Crusaders
    Beat-em-up made by Noise Factory. They'd go on to work with SNK for Sengoku 3. It's not the prettiest game: character designs are very random and color palette blah BUT it's really fun and challenging. Juggle system (hit hit hit, launch, hit, dash, hit some more) gives it more substance than most of these types of games. Distinct moves for main characters. Good music. Runs smoothly on Gridlee. Check it out.

    I don't know if it'll work on your Mac, I think it's iOS only, but I could be wrong. I don't believe many people are in possession of the iMpulse, as it's not available until April.
    You can google it, and find their webpage and search for additional info there.

  16. I finally had a chance to play with this tonight, so I thought I'd share my experiences...

    I used .130 ROMS. Out of the 39 I tried, only 3 didn't work. The 3 that didn't work were:

    * Asteroids
    * New Rally X
    * Mario Bros. (Bummer, since this and Robotron are my all-time favorites)

    And here are the 36 that did work, along with meaningless commentary on some of the games) :)

    * Astro Blaster (Fighter pilots needed in sector wars. Play Astro Blaster!)
    * Berzerk (Chicken, fight like a robot)
    * Bomb Jack
    * Burger Time
    * Dig Dug
    * Donkey Kong
    * Donkey Kong Junior
    * Frogger
    * Galaga
    * Gorf
    * Gyruss (very underrated game with a great soundtrack)
    * Joust
    * Jump Bug
    * Lady Bug
    * Lode Runner
    * Major Havoc (another underrated game with great vector graphics)
    * Mappy
    * Moon Patrol (the groovy background music has been lodged in my head for decades)
    * Mr Do!
    * Ms. Pac-Man (Whenever I start this game, I swear I can smell the pan pizza in the Pizza Hut where I first played it.)
    * Pengo
    * Popeye (comparable to DK and DKjr)
    * Puckman (Pac-Man)
    * Q*Bert
    * Rolling Thunder (another game that I always thought should've gotten more attention than it did)
    * Satan's Hollow (great shooter)
    * Space Invaders
    * Super Pac-Man (my favorite Pac-Man game)
    * Tetris (Atari version, and another game with music that has been lodged in my brain for decades)
    * Time Pilot (the game I was the best at, back in the day)
    * Vanguard
    * Venture
    * Wizard of Wor
    * Xevious
    * Zaxxon
    * Zoo Keeper

    I also loaded the artwork for most of the games, and that worked too.

    All in all, this has been an incredible evening, and a wonderful walk down memory lane. I wish I could bring my iPad back to my 6th grade self and show him what will be possible in the year 2013. That would definitely freak him (me) out.

    Now I just need to purchase a better controller than the virtual one. An iOS trackball would be nice too. And an iOS Tron joystick, and an iOS spinner, and... :)

    I can still get more units so the offer is still out there for anyone willing to pay and wait the time needed in order to get more parts. It's $130 shipped in the USA or $120 + shipping and packing materials outside the USA.

    I have the .139u1 set and Asteroids and Mario Bros work fine for me. Haven't tried the other game.

    Amen on the iOS trackball. Trackball type games seem made for a tablet touch screen but we end up stuck with a joystick. Missile Command and Centipede should be so much better. The Tron controls would be awesome too. I didn't even try Tron because I figured the controls would be screwy.
