Help. I've been at this for days now and it's been kicking my butt. I'm usually good at figuring things like this out but it's been rough. I have an iPhone 4 and have tried installing a few roms. I get that error everybody's mentioned half of the time. Sometimes i get a game running and its extremely slow. Like any of the Mega Play titles for example. Can someone pm me and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or do I just need an iPhone 5 ? Thanks.
Hello all im new here but need a bit of advise. Downloading roms no problems and i can get them working. But i need help with outrun, Well the gears high and low. tryed chainging controls but cant seen to find the keys top change gear. second thing in the settings how do you change the an option to nothing or even reset default settings. bob
For me, that error usually means I dont have the right bios. check to make sure you got the right ones. Mega play games are pretty slow for me too. I tried the mega-tech sonic and it seems to run just a bit better with mega-tech. Streets of Rage II can be played using the mega-tech bios as well. Sometimes setting the speed hack to normal helps some.
If the game has an error, you have the wrong set version. If its slow, either the game is fairly "current" or your device is holding it back. Heck even on the latest devices tekken 3 runs slowly.
You are right. I tested the high scores on other games besides Tempest. Unfortunately, I have the same results as everyone else. Sorry to bring up hopes for having high scores.
Folders? Any ideas if you can add folders to the Mame rom list, you know, to help organise. I gave it a try and it didn't work. Maybe some one else had better luck? If not, any tips on rom organising?
If you had read the thread you would have found information on a particular romset, one that I have personally mentioned a dozen times or more that is self contained and each file includes all dependencies and bios files. If you want to pick and download individual files on various sites then that's your choice, and you will have all sorts of issues. But if you take the time to find it, download it and then use its files they will all work. Sme games don't work very well (ie: slow down, choppy sound, etc) but they all work. You then just need to find out what works for your device and weed out the ones that don't. I'm tired of single digit posters coming in here and asking stupid questions. It's all been answered before and most likely in this thread.
And to be honest if getting snes games to work is your main goal then this emulator is not for you. Frankly even the thought of mixing nes, genesis or snes roms in with my arcade roms makes me physically ill. This is an arcade machine emulator, play arcade games. Remember arcade games? They still have them at chuck e cheese! Instead of turning on a console you simply walk up to the machine and put in currency. There's a reason these games are so addictive because they want more money. Console games don't care how often you play them because they already have your money. Arcade games need to appeal to the next quarter, and the best way to do that is by giving you the most fun for the quarter you already have in the machine. Seriously, I have no idea what this next generation wants from gaming. I don't have hours and weeks to dedicate to a game, I don't expect real life graphics, I just want something that is quick and fun. And for that this emulator couldn't be better. If you want something else from gaming then old school arcade emulators are not your thing.
On a jailbroken device, sure it's nice to have separate emulators. But I totally get mixing SNES with Arcade because if you're not jailbroken and you want to port your nostalgia around with you, a one-size fits all emulator is pretty cool to have.
I agree with your sentiment, but for all intents and purposes, until 6.1 gets jailbroken this is the only way I can enjoy myself a cup of Punchout, Super Punchout and even Mike Tyson's Punchout without jailbreaking. Heck I'm not even sure if I will jailbreak at this point. The only thing I "can't" do is share my 4g with my mini, but theres even a workaround for that with discorecorder and my android watch to create an adhoc network (bypassing the need for a pc/mac)
I wish people would stop moaning about people with low post counts asking questions! I bet 90% of regular posters made an account to ask a question. Who's to say they will 'just disappear' after their question is answered?
With the exception of a few people most of the single digit posters in this thread are asking for roms, sites that host roms, which version will work, where to put files, what sw to use to get roms on their device, which bios file to use, if someone will pm them with step by step instructions, why (insert game name here) wont work, why they get chd errors, etc. Nearly all of these questions have been answered in the first 10-20 pages of this thread. If someone has a legit question then by all means ask, but if you are just looking for hand fed info then you deserve the wrath that follows.
I have placed the nss.zip files and the zipped SNES ROMs in the ROMs folder, turned off the "hide not working" setting and still could not see the games. I must be missing a step or two. Any thoughts? Thanks.
That's fine with me, I just couldn't bring myself to do such a filthy thing, lol. As long as people read the thread, follow the instructions and play nicely, I couldn't care less what they do with their device, roms and sw. I just find it funny that most of the people complaining are the ones who are only interested in snes games. I mean seriously, it's an arcade emulator not a console emulator. For those who got them to work, great. For those who can't figure it out, tough.
Here's my setup. Decided against building a custom joystick and just replaced the icade parts with sanwa joysticks and buttons. Much better!
