This is how I feel reading posts asking for roms, or links via PM, after I see their post count.

Does anyone has any tips and tricks in maximising compatibility on an iPad 2?

I am using all correct rom sets.

I disabled animation, smoothed image and sound is on 22khs. I have tried speed hacks but get a pretty variable response.

Is there anything else I can be doing to increase the speed of some games? I think there's probably things that I am not thinking of.

Also, with speed hacks should they be effective straight away or do you need to reset the game first?

    Thanks for your help!

^^ Ive tried alot of things for games like Tekken 3 but at the end of the day they still struggle. I can get Strider 2 to a workable state but if I play on the phone 5 its awesome. Ipad 2 just struggles a bit.

Anyone who is yet to play Osman is missing out!! Its by the original Strider crew (from what I can tell) and its awesome.

Yeah, I'm thinking its a hardware issue and just can't cope. If anyone has further advice I'd love to hear it.

The CPS2 games are playing well for me, as well as the NEOGEO Metal Slug series. What a fantastic release.

I'm a newb "Can someone send me a..." just joking
This is probably a dumb question, but I have an old mad catz fight stick. Is there any way that I can use this with the iPad? I swear I read the entire thread and I didn't see an answer.

How would you use that on your ipad? You could gut it and install icade guts and get it to work but IMO that would be a waste.

    Ok figured it out
    With ikari warriors as well

    Press coin+start
    Go to Input (this game)
And assign the two free buttons in ikari warriors
    Y & A
    To
Positional analog dec & positional analog Inc

I guess just play around and see what works best for you

So far enjoying Megaman III, SMB, Sonic.. D&D and much more (SMW actually runs at playable speed on my iPad 4, with a few missing sprites and lots of sound glitches!) along with my iCade :)

I also discovered an oddity called Valkryie no Densetsu, all in Japanese but it's basically an action rpg, sort of like Zelda or SoM but designed for arcade.. that is, there's a storyline, shops, etc. (Fortunately, I can read a bit of Japanese..)

Aside from that, if anybody can recommend any other great platformers on MAME, by all means please fire away!

Got that obscure game I mentioned way back in the thread to work. Numan Athletics for those interested.

Anyone try The original Virtua Fighter? Seems like if Tekken and some other 3d fighting games are working, that might?

I haven't tried it, but it is listed as working in the 0.139 guide.

Tekken 3 runs at about 7-10 fps on my iPad 4 :D

Runs perfectly. I also have gigawing, loop master, dangun feveron, dimahoo, dodonpachi, in the hunt, mars matrix, and progear. They all run flawlessly.

3d fighting games aren't going to run very well. Even mortal kombat 3 ran very slow on my ipad 3. I have given up on midway games from the 90s, it seems that board needs a lot of horsepower to emulate correctly. For some reason cps 2 doesn't require nearly as much. I remember a time when cps2 titles were a pipe dream. Games like gigawing I figured would have at least a little slow down, but to my surprise it runs just fine. It's funny I've ran into games that you'd figure would run just fine like gals panic and bubble bobble but they seem to lag and stutter.
