I'll have to create a video, and my iCade was also from BB&B. The thing that makes this less of a coincidence is that I have all of iCade's lineup except the core. The only iCade device that doesn't have this problem is the one ion doesnt make, the bitty. There is a specific button which will not work with right+button, it just won't register on any of the units I own.
Do you think this will work with mame? http://toucharcade.com/2011/12/01/controller-accessory-update/ Edit: i mean that gametel controller not the pad one..
I shall test with mine just now sir. I haven't used mine since I got my iCade mobile but I'll crack it open just now.
B*llocks - the batteries run down. I'll charge it just now and try later. It has an iCade mode but the button mapping with the old iMame was poor as fire was select or start. You can map the buttons with the Gridlee Mame so should be okay but I'll know for sure in a half hour or so.
Hi guys is it possible to make in the 1 page a list of the best pages of this cool thread? I ve read all page but every day there are more page updates.. For example i find a good post on page 79 with all settings and then? I hope that this idea will be appreciate..
I found with iMAME the high scores worked well. I haven't had time to work towards high scores with this new version, too busy seeing what is compatible with my iPad 2. Does this version not support high scores without adding the additional highscore.dat file? Thanks for the info!
No, doesn't support the wiimote. It works with iCade (and various iterations), iControlPad and iMpulse. The jailbreak version of this build supports wiimote, but the purpose of Gridlee is to avoid jailbreaking.
This one needs hiscore.dat in documents folder. That's what I saw here in the forum but I did that and records are gone. If you have more luck please tell when you try
Just tested the Gametel controller on Super Mario World 3 and it really does work a treat. The button mapping is brilliant. Actually couldn't believe how good it was. The only downside with the Gametel is that it only holds your device in Landscape. No big shakes just not ideal with Cave shooters and 1941 and the like. Holds the device tight though and can hold iPhone 5s as well as older ones. I'm pleasantly surprised myself and glad I dug it out. Hope you get it for a good price though as these things are quite overpriced. Good one.
Ok well i got my icade core today and noticed it doesn't need to be paired the same way my old one did. My icade original needed you to push buttons that corresponded to numbers in order to get it paired, but the core didn't require that. I just pushed the buttons to pair it and it paired right up. There are still numbers next to the buttons but i've decided to just mod the icade core instead of tearing it apart and putting the guts into a custom controller. The form factor is nearly identical to the pc-10 I was going to put it in so this just saves me a little hassle. I have switched out the buttons and am working on the joystick right now. The joystick it comes with is very stiff, although it seems to use a sanwa mounting pattern and the bottom plate can be switched out with the sanwa octagon. All in all i'm very impressed with the work they did, i just wish they had gone with better buttons instead of the typical american arcade machine buttons. Then again i've had a few candy cabs in the past so i might be abit of a snob when it comes to arcade gaming, hehe. I'll still post some pics when i'm done
No better luck here. The guy who mentioned it used Tempest as the testbed, but I think Tempest already used NVRAM to save scores (I could be wrong about that, though.)
Issues with clones anyone? For a better success rate I try as many sets I can find but since different versions of the roms have the same name when transferred I'm confronted with having to replace or skip over existing roms. iTools and iexplorer do this. Are there any other programs that allow clones?
Yes I don't have tempest but I used older games like star force or raiden and new ones and no luck keeping scores. I'm thinking maybe this feature is not in this version of the emulator because the help file don't say nothing about it and the same help file in the web talks about scores and the hi folder that keeps it. Someone maybe have more info, maybe mr Seleuco
