Sarcasm much? Btw I do have no idea how to tell if a rom is compatible with 1.139u1. I just try anything I can find :|
Protip: 1.44 work fine... Just make sure you have all the dependencies that go along with them such as BIOS files.
Agreed on all counts. Including the Neo Geo games being ones I actually come back to. God how many times have I got Alien vs. Predator running on some new platform then never played it again ugh.
This gave me an idea. I used to build joysticks for super guns in my spare time. If you don't know what a super gun is, its a unit that plugs into your TV and then you can connect JAMMA arcade boards to it and play it on your TV as if it were in an arcade machine. Anyhow i dusted off one of my old super gun joysticks and should have another icade at my doorstep within the next few hours. I modded my old icade last night with a sanwa JLF joystick and 30mm buttons (the snappy buttons they use are way too loud and don't allow for rapid tapping) and noticed that it was a mostly self contained unit that could be put inside a joystick box without too much hassle. So i ordered an extra icade to throw in the joystick box and will be doing that this evening. I'll be sure to post pics later on. What gave me the idea in the first place was as I was playing metal slug X and Baseball Stars 2 my back started to hurt from sitting up in my recliner. So i figured why not make a joystick that I can sit on my lap and play with instead. So anyhow, i just heard the knock at the door so UPS must be here with my package. Time to break out the tools and get to work
The name of the set, or what to search for on google has been posted multiple multiple times. Just make sure you are looking for the exact version, not just any.
Let me know how it goes, I had a few super guns back in the day. I worked with Gamefan Magazine and we had them lying around the office, they eventually found a home with me once we were done with them Here is the issue with the iCade by IonAudio as opposed to the Bitty by ThinkGeek... Multiple button presses and or directions being pressed on the joystick in tandem with a button push. Long story short, iCade doesn't like certain button combinations, and I'm not sure if its because they are hard coded for specific functions. In example, I cannot move right and jump in Donkey Kong on my iCade, iCade Jr. or iCade mobile with the default button set up. It just doesn't register unless i create MAME button maps to right+button, otherwise I need to map the action button to another hardware key all together. Interestingly, this does not happen on the bitty, however it's default button setup has yet to work with anything "out of the box" in the App Store. For Mame on the other hand, it's been a god send, no button drama like the iCades have, which is a pity. If you're going to mod, I suggest the bitty, or wait around for an impulse controller. Mine is due to ship in april, and because it has a mini usb connection, I'm pretty sure it will allow firmware updates and or button reassignments, something the bitty and icade lineup desperately need.
I downloaded my file from http://highscore.mameworld.info/download.htm. I unzipped the file and used the one named "hiscore.dat" (there are two of them). I put the file in the Documents folder in the Girdlee app. So far, I can still see my initials on my crappy score on Tempest that I got last night. This includes shutting down the app as well as removing from the recently opened apps list. Not all games are supported. I hope this helps.
FYI - I have an iCade purchased from bed bath that does not have this issue. I use the original appstore iMame that was pulled. A friend and I spent a good hour playing Donkey Kong once and did not have this problem. Is my iCade not the same?
Yes I used that one too in the documents folder but maybe the games I tried don't work, I will keep trying. Thanks
