you grabbed the wrong version mame rom! 0.139u1 ... also chd file is image/copy protection method... as in the pc version of mame you create a folder of the same name of the rom.zip file and put that file in it but it does not work with this.
Did you send a pm of the rom for Street fighter 3? If so, can someone hook me up with a pm? I can't get any of the street fighters to work, is there a BIOS I need?
smb3 i finally got super mario bro 3 to work but funny thing is this. in world 1 level 4...it ALWAYS goes blank at the same spot. i tried multiple times after saving and reloading but it keeps going blank, meaning the screen goes black and i can't do anything. do i have a bad copy of the rom? or... just something else. ALSO, i noticed in a lot of the screen shots that most people have all the buttons. for my screen, i only have x and b - how can i fix that? thank you ALL for your help and patience. even though i'm a new user, i still appreciate all this so much.
the black screen means bad rom missing graphics if it gives you a warning on the rom selection screen like the banner will change from green (good) yellow means issues with something red wont work. try to find a newer rom.
And my question initially was correct button configuration. So I can use fireballs in Super Mario Bros. 3 and also run.
thanks! noted for the tip - got the controls now. just tried to install super mario world with the nss bios and i dont even see the super mario world game. did i miss something? i see the bios but the game doesn't show up.. lol
You have the setting on that says something like "ignore all not working." This version of MAME can't emulate the NSS proporly, so it appears broken. It runs, but there's no good reason to play through it when the framerate is horrible (not to mention glitched sound).
Saving high score works! If you wish to keep your high scores, install the hiscore.dat file in the Documents file. Available online. Update: I'm sorry. I only try to tried it on Tempest which seemed to save the high scoree. Other games do not seem to save the highest score. Tempest seems to have a way to save the high score on its own. Apologies to those who were hoping for a way to save scores.
Finally got a site that has working versions of some that I was looking for, bosconian, digdug, and rastan. Only downside, it stops at g. Hey can I take a screenshot like you guys are on my ipod touch 5th gen? I want to share shots of some of my favorite arcades. BTW I'm seriously considering getting an ipad and an icade simply because of this one simple app.
Ok so as far as iCade. Seriously considering it, like, right now. I just want to ask a question though. If you select iCade control option and then get it working. Does it remove the on screen virtual joystick and buttons? In turn actually using the whole screen in portrait mode? If it did that I'm ordering an iCade and Ipad3 yesterday.
So, how do you get cheats to stay after quitting the game? I read that one person managed to have his cheat stay permanent.
Yes, select icade then select 'full screen' for both portrait and landscape. The buttons disappear and the whole screen is filled with the game.
For those who are having a problem with play choice games going blank I found that if you press coin and the button you issued enter will make the game playable again Onto world 3 in SMB3
Also works with the 8-bitty. What if you change the timer to Free Play (press coin+start after launching the game, navigate to Timer speed, select, press to the right until it says Free Play)? I'm guessing it shouldn't blank at all.
