My iPhone X has moments of choppiness. Overall its not bad, but an option to increase frame rate over visuals would be nice.
On my iPad Pro I wasnt talking about moments of choppiness, it was plain old choppy full stop. Sure the iPhone 8 might drop some frames here and there but overall its very smooth and am much happier with it. Would prefer to play on the bigger screen but the difference in performance is so vast that Ive removed from my iPad for the time being
Just in case anyone else seeing this, I was getting the ability to boost or change up gears when on auto with my steelseries stratus. Just got a new Nimbus and it doesnt seem to happen
To be fair- theres other things that you cant see that may affect performance. Physics being a big one- I remember reading an article detailing the amount of physics calculations Forza does. Im guessing the physics in GRID, since it originated on console/PC- are more complex then RR3- theres more disciplines too so more details in physics engine. Also theres other things to consider like draw distance - LoD. RR3 I see pop in consistently where in GRID it rarely if ever happens on my iPhone X. Also iOS and Android are notorious for having background processes going on. A lot can be set by user so there isnt any dev optimization to help with that. Make sure, for iOS, True Tone is off and so is Background App refresh off.
Hello newbie here! I agree with the above. The physics feels more robusts here. Moreover, I play PRO AI setting which the cars seems to have their own set of runs running, some will try to block you, the others will chace each other down (and spin out of control at times). This is not something I see in RR3. ----- BTW, is there any recommended setting for controller? I find the steering super sensitive by default.
luckily apple company isn't driven by people like YOU who thinks staying on the old generation OS would be comfortable enough and dont feel the need on improving otherwise it would have fallen to the likes of Nokia
Hello! I'm afraid I don't have a specific release date for you, but we will post in this thread when the game becomes available on the Brazilian App Store. You won't miss it, promise.
I still dont understand. Background app refresh allows GRID to function in the background while I am doing other things. It should only impact battery life (as far as I can tell it doesnt) and data usage (I have Sprint, so not a concern).
I'm not 100% sure but I'd assume 'Background App refresh' would mean the iphone system is communicating with Apps to keep them refreshed, at all times-in game or not. This would take CPU processing power and hence, less devoted to the game you are playing.. this case - GRID. I think of Background App Refresh the same as having multiple programs running on a computer then trying to play a game. If you have enough ram, you are OK but it still affects the performance because there's less memory devoted to the game. That's how I interpret it but maybe iOS it's a little different.
Oh, ok, that makes sense. I only have a few apps allowed to background refresh, so I haven't noticed any problems.
I get background app refresh, but the post made it sound like I should turn off background app refresh for GRID. That, by definition, would not affect an active session of GRID. Your description of how background app refresh is accurate, but in iOS apps will not background refresh unless there is RAM available. So, it shouldn't disrupt GRID to update Facebook. Of course, that is assuming everything is working as designed...
Repost: is there any recommended setting for controller? I find the steering super sensitive by default.
Same here tbh, I just got used to it, I suggest just fiddling around with the options though, youll eventually get something confortable
Hello Feral Interactive. for next update, could you add options to change game resolution like 1280x720? i think iphone 8 plus with 720p strong enough to get quality as good as xbox360 like shadow effect or even better and iphone 7 plus will get boost performance too. And in game benchmark like pc
