Just wanted to say thanks Edwin I contacted support and they are very helpful I let them know about the issue on the wheel controls and manual setup I was having they responded and now I sent them a video To show what is happening so all good
On Rookie, Im not finding the game difficult. If by difficult you mean having difficultly controlling g the car - lots of over or under steer - the issue is likely the advanced control settings. These are located in the Settings app and control dead zone, steering saturation, etc. Getting these so they work for you is key. Once dialed in, the game becomes much less difficult ;-)
I read there was supposed to be haptic feedback, but how do you turn that on? I don't feel any feedback.
"When developing the game we wanted to make use of iOS 11's improvements." Hi Ellie and Eddie, I am one of THOSE gamers who are holding off on updating to iOS11 because of the APPocalypse. Any chance this game would be released for iOS10? I would be happy to forgo the bells and whistles. Thanks!
Its on by default as long as your device supports haptic. iPads dont have haptic hardware so you dont get haptic if you play with an iPad.
Rookie has all the in game assists turned on, if you are using touch wheel controls have a look at the tweaked controls some others have tried to make the steering a little easier for rookies. Were currently building up feedback on different defaults people are using for the touch and tilt settings as were committed to constantly improve the game over time. So if you do find settings you like do let us know via support (the game has an in game email support option). Happy racing!
24 hours and 8gigs of deleted photos later, notices ios 11 requirement. Cherished sneaky 32bit video downloader app says stuff your fancy racer.
Dont shoot me ! I think it would be nice to have a 'novice' level as well ! I've played tons of racing games over the years but this one i've found the most difficult even on the basic level. I'm just skidding like crazy or if i turn a fraction i seem to skid. I've noted down the settings some other people have listed and its helped but i'm still struggling. A 'novice' setting where you just dont skid so much would really help me and perhaps other players who may be struggling to get into the game. Perhaps i've just played Real Racing so much and i'm used to braking automatically and not skidding like crazy. I know two different games but it might help some bad players like myself (!) get into this more. Still stunning and a ton to it, just finding it a tad frustrating. If i dont brake i'm skidding like crazy as i'm going too fast, brake too much and tons of cars overtake me and i'm near last.
Great game all around and 10 Euro well spent. Since we could not have Toca Race Driver 3 on mobile, I highly accept this (Though I believe Toca 3 is still the better game overall). That said, there is something really weird that happens every time I start playing this game. After every first or second race, my screen brightness dims to an unbearable level and track visibility becomes poor. This happens on a new iPhone 8 Plus (256 GB) that I just bought on Tuesday the 28th. This is really bothering me a lot as I cannot tell if it is the iPhone 8 Plus or the game that is the culprit. The thing is that I am just coming from the Android ecosystem (though I still have my old iPad Mini 2 and work iPhone SE) and I have never experienced this phenomenon on a phone. The funny thing is that this screen dimming is not happening on the iPhone SE ever when playing Grid Autosport on it and it stays cool the entire time but why is this happening on a latest flagship device. Is anyone experiencing this problem too? Is this supposed to be a normal thing on iOS devices now or is it possible that my new iPhone 8 Plus is faulty? Is there any way to turn this off in setting? If it is not possible to turn this dimming off, @ Feral, is it possible to get the game to perform on the same level as the iPhone SE (i.e. without dimming randomly and staying a bit cooler)? Thanks to anyone who could offer me some solution otherwise I will assume it is the phone and will be returning it on Monday. Thanks.
It’s not your phone since the same thing happens on my iPhone X and someone else has already raised this issue earlier in the thread. Unfortunately Feral never replied to the question as to whether this is a known issue. Don’t return your new phone. It’s not the phone, it’s the game.
There's no excuse for this, this is called lack of optimization, I remember that someone very wise in the industry, veteran John Carmack, father of Doom and Wolfenstein. He was very critical of the developers he accuses of becoming "lazy", as they seem resigned to waiting for the new technological advances offered by NVIDIA and AMD with their new GPUs, when what they should be improving and adjusting their video games. "I prefer magic software to magic hardware,"said one of the founders of Id Software. And it's true I feel that most platforms have a lot to exploit, in fact ios is a very optimized system and the current iPhone has enough hardware to run certain games more fluidly and with more graphic details and better experience, but I feel that many times developers deliver games that need to be polished, if it's expensive and those things and Feral Interactive, tries to do what many companies do not do because they just do free to Play trash.
I am so not biting that bait. Actually, I am, what the heck man ? How the fudge is this game not optimized ? Youre drunk, go home. @Freeway, Sarfa I didnt have that issue on my iPad pro... maybe its inly on phones it happens ? Do you guys have true-tone turned on ? Could it be the culprit ? Just trying a wild guess here. Nonetheless im sure Feral will fix it, they seen very involved so far with the community, lets be positive and give them a chance, this is only the version of release and its only been out for 6 days.
I think hes trolling. He was moaning before the game was $10 not $8 all because he had $8 left in his account ! Im sure Feral know what theyre doing regarding optimisation.
the game is just looking freaking amazing, but i can t help comparing this to real racing 3 and notice there was no real time shadow while real racing 3 have it, it has buttersmooth framerate and that s a game that run on lower spec devices, but still awesome to see this land on ios, i m surprise nobody did a comparaison with the console/pc version of grid yet, and you can tell there still a huge gap when you watch some video of the console version.i m looking forward some update with better optimisation so the game can be the number 1 console quality racing game on mobile here a fair comparaison versus RR3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMOpsqON6bs
I understand that it takes a few days, but if you follow them on twitter you will notice that they are not willing to support certain devices, and if you read the game well on iPhone X, 8 plus also lack optimization. If I'm sure they'll fix it, but I'm talking about those models that could run it in a better way and the ones that could be shared with them, my phone is, but it's time to think about the rest. I haven't read a lot on iPad and haven't tried the game yet, so I can't tell you for sure how it's going in any of them, if you see a comment from an iPad Air 2 user, which begs quite a few questions.
I think your argument is so clever to say that I am a troll, you deserve a prize, but apparently I'm the only one who thinks about the optimization and that the game could be seen better, they have done a good job, at no time have I denied it, but still feel that they need to put more compatible devices and improve the game. Is this why I'm a troll? I find interesting your way of expressing yourself to people who think differently from you, that says a lot about you. Happy evening. Another thing if I pay $10 for a game I'm entitled to say or demand since I know that if it's not the $60 you pay in a game of ps4, but it's the normal price of a mobile game and it's also a port of a game from years ago. In fact I just quoted something that one of the creators of Doom said and it is partly true and is being seen a lot in the industry and it is the lack of optimization.
I feel as though Im playing a different game to everyone else. On my 9.7 iPad Pro the frame rate is really choppy and not a great experience. It looks great but Id prefer a higher frame rate. Im going to ditch the hi-res textures and see if that helps and try it on my iPhone 8 too.
