    Edwin,
I tried a few more times and it still was doing it at about a quarter of the way so I emailed support
Thanks! I did mention you :)

Gorgeous game, thanks Feral :) Got a question... I’m a bit confused.

I’m a full driving noob really, so all settings are default rookie, playing single races in most numpty league (touring C) with an mfi gamepad only. Most of the time I just accelerate (braking and transmission auto handled) but often (ish), I seem to lack acceleration and holding the shift up (x button) radically improves speed. What gives? Is it auto transmission with manual override, it doesn’t seem to be, cause it doesn’t work most of the time?

**edit - there is a definite boost from holding x, especially out of corners, is this just me manually changing up a gear while it is set to auto?**

My apologies if it’s already been covered in this busy thread and I’ve missed it but can we redefine the MFi controls?

I’d love to have gear up/down on the right stick.

ive noticed this as well. using mifi, easiest difficulty and im just responsible for steering and acceleration. early on in races everything just flies past me and i feel like im a snail (kinda like the speed penalty you get for cutting corners... but there are no corners being cut). After releasing the gas and hitting it again suddenly i feel like im moving right and start making ground on the rest of the pack that has left me behind.

This game is the racing game I’ve been waiting for.

I forced myself to go to the office today rather than telework so I wouldn’t be playing this game all day.

Adjusting the steering controls in settings and getting how I wanted made all the difference.

I love the pack racing in this game. The AI doesn’t slavishly stay on the racing line and if I make a mistake the car behind me will fight to pass. Really good stuff.

Only minor gripe is I feel the tone curve leans to make the dark areas go dark or black too quickly and highlights blow to white a bit too quickly. If I could post photos here (I’m lame, I don’t know how) I would show a before and after with shadows lifted and maybe black point adjusted to overall lighten the graphics. I’m on an iPhone 8+ if that makes a difference and I’m playing with battery save on. VERY minor niggle.

I was worried about race length. Not really an issue so far AND the Custom mode allows for both selecting of course (longer or shorter) in a location and adjust laps from 1 up. No doubt I could make a custom cup with my favorite locations, each individually tailored to a race length I like.

4 gig very well spent ;-)

EDIT: I found a HUGE flaw. The App Store WILL NOT let me post a review. Please fix!!!

    -reads above explanation-

So...your saying in testing, this suggested control style behaves... just like real life :)

    Freakin’ awesome game!
A little suggestion ellie and edddeduck to pass on to the coding team:
When you hit pause during a race for whatever reasons and resume again, make it countdown like 3 seconds or so before it resumes.
Now its almost instant resume and i have to hurry to put my hands in the correct position.
Not really an issue on my iphone x but on my ipad pro i need to hurry up to get my hands in position before the race resumes.
Shouldnt be too hard to implement i guess.

Second that, great game, still waiting on my Nimbus to really enjoy myself.

I think my first Codemasters game was BMX Simulator ...:D

Small tip : Use flashback if you screw up a bit after unpausing #

Its been suggested a few times and they've mentioned in the thread before they will look into it, certainly think its a good fit and the new 4k ATV defo has enough grunt (and the older ATV4 may just have enough if its running full out) but I guess it depends on how challenging it is to get the remote to work as a controller as not everyone will have access to an MFI controller

    IPhone X choppy frame rate

I’m enjoying this game but on an iPhone X is anybody else getting a choppy frame rate?
No reviews have mentioned this and I want to rule out a problem with my phone etc
I have download and added all the packs etc, am I bring too ambitious trying to run with all of this and have a smooth and steady frame rate? It can make the game a lot harder as the things start to get choppy
    Thanks

Yes an AppleTV version is a popular request :)

That doesn't sound good :( It sounds like a connection glitch, we have no power at all over how the Apple review system works but I'd perhaps restart your device or go into Airplane mode and out again and see if that fixes the problem.

Not quite, in real life you can brake while changing gears at the same time. The suggested control style means you need to brake then change gears then accelerate which is much much slower. :)

I left a review in the UK store, that seemed to work okay

Still finding it tough with the controls but better than before. I do wish there was an 'arcade' checkbox to just make moving a bit easier, sometimes i'm twisting what seems like my phone around as i cant seem to turn in such a tight circle to get back on the track etc.

Found the F1 game by Codemasters easier to control. I'll keep practicing as this is a quality game but just struggling at times

FYI - You can bring up the steering bar in the top of the screen so you can see how much steering input you have and when you're at full lock. This is in the HUD menu in Options.

    Hope that helps!
