Don’t forget too you can mess with the cars tuning etc before you race so much to this game I am still just playing with options learning my way around and only doing time trials and I have put a lot of time in Almost ready to race I could never get the manual to work right It kept downshifting instead of upshifting at points and it just wouldn’t respond sometimes I would end up in reverse and neutral a lot Example I’m upshifting it’s working fine changing gears then all of a sudden my upshifts would turn to downshifts and I’m in neutral and I did nothing different Is the nudge the only way to shift or is there options to shift in another way? And is anyone else playing manual having the same problem Okay if I use tilt controls I can just flick to change gears on screen maybe I will try tilt controls although I usually don’t care for them in racing games but this is no ordinary racing game so I’m willing to try it out the FAQ is great by the way access it in the help screen and it gives tons of info and answers many questions
Thank you for this. I recall reading about Nintendo designing Mario Kart and researching race length. They found something like 3:00 to 3:30 being the sweet spot and the tracks are designed to roughly this length (Im going from memory here - feel free to correct me if Im wrong). I just tried a few races with apps I have and I dont know that I would have the patience, especially on mobile, for 7 minute races. To those that are playing, is the race length an issue? Are there options in some events or modes to adjust the race length?
The races themselves, no problems with length. Most races so far for me have been 3 to 4 laps each. What lengths it is in career mode when 2 to 3 tracks per season and 2 or 3 races per track with 3 to 4 laps per race. You pretty much flow between the races immediately, I don't think there is the ability to go back to main screen and resume season later. Not sure what would happen if we simply closed the game in between races during a season.
It saves your results. You can go ahead and quit after a race and get back to the season later. BTW — I’m way, way impressed by this.
ty for the clarification! question : can you have more than one season going on at the same time in different race modes?
Hey, Ellie, Thanks for giving me hope for the possible graphics improvement! Also, shouldn't the graphics at least be on par with the last gen consoles? I feel like what we have right now is more like in between ps2 and ps3 (the polygon count is pretty high, I'll give you that). Doesn't Metal 2 support all kinds of fancy effects?I think its just really bizarre that iphone7 and up (I assume iPhone 8 and x can sustain at the ps3 level of performance for a long time) couldn't achieve the graphic fidelity of the last gen console and that bother's me a little. Also, I really want this to be the new graphics benchmark for the mobile platform. Unfortunately, in its current state, you can not really call this "console quality graphics". Edit: An option of 760p(iphone6/7/8 are 750p) 60fps at PS3 graphical setting would be really nice. Edit2: just bought the game. The game is awesome, but the graphic is really disappointing on iPhone 7 like I suspected. please give us more graphics options to play around. Its already running super smooth (I'm fine with 30fps), just need the shadows. Soft dynamic shadow would make it look awesome. Grass would also look nice (if you guys can do that). If you guys can also cram dynamic lighting into the game like the ps3 version that would be great. I won't mind download additional 8gb of content (ultra HD texture and high-poly models, anyone?) as long as everything is nice and clear. Edit3: we need depth of field for the terrible textures everywhere. the anisotropic filter would also be nice. The current state of no anti-aliasing is fine, especially on the plus and x.
Found my sweet spot Tilt controls with manual transmission I dont ever like Tilt controls on mobile racing games but it works just right on this one def surprised me With this configuration I am having a blast If some arent aware of this you can slide across the brake to use the handbrake which is super cool
Ill ask it again since i think my question went under the rug Can someone detail to me the differences in the Handling Assist options ? Like what exactly does Arcade change vs Arcade Pro, etc... Thanks
thanks ellie! after 20 mins on a time trial and your answer, i got my controls all set. Small deadzone, high linearity and high saturation did it, no longer oversteering It was a bit of a pain to learn, and even with battery saver the phone still gets warm- but not MKX hot- but i’d take a quality premium racer any day over RR3 so i’m happy to be able to play even with not amazing graphics!
how do i change the control to all manual? i just set the difficulty to rookie-->is that affecting opponent AI only, or does it affect control assist i'm using Nimbus, where can turn off all assist and play manual?
Leave your settings on Rookie then go to advanced difficulty settings and enable Manual gears. You don't need to alter the other settings. [EDIT] Thanks taeles you seemed to have explained before I did!
Happy to help but I'm not Ellie I'm Edwin If you get a moment it would be really cool if you could take a screenshot of your preferred settings and email them to our support team, we're building up feedback of custom settings people use to see if we can keep improving the defaults so I'd be keen to see what you did and what settings you use
Itll be great to see peoples settings for the steering wheel. I keep changing it but its either too loose or feels like turning a concrete car ! Cant seem to get the perfect settings
Hi Feral. I would also like the option for improved framerate / reduced graphics toggle. Also Ive not seen anyone ask..but any chance we could have button mapping for controllers as I have a fused right thumb which makes accessibility difficult when using the current manual gear buttons, being able to map gear changes to R1/R2 would make a huge difference. Thanks again for delivering a great (and full) game, much appreciated.
Morning everyone, thanks for all your awesome comments. It's good to see folk helping each other out and answering questions.
