Hey, I'm new here so idk if this thread has already been made but...

How come so many people write such a great review for apps/games but give them only one star? Whats the deal?

I was wondering that too. At first I thought they were trying to be funny, but I'm thinking they're just dumb. I've seen some that give very detailed reviews and rave about the game or the album, but they give it one star.

I think it's because if you write the review via the iPhone it defaults at 1 star....

Maybe they forget. What many people do not know is that they can edit their reviews, and they should, if decided to review in the first place.

No, I don't think thats it either, I have written reviews before and none of them were 1 star when they were posted.

It defaults to one star. i.e., if you do nothing, then it's one star. If you change it, then it will be something else.

Yeah. You can post a review in iTunes where you rave about the app and give it say 5 stars. Then when you delete the app from your device I think it uses the rating you give the app when you delete it. So it is using the latest star rating and leaving the written feedback.

I give every app 5 stars when i delete them. It balances the bad reviews :)

I just don't do anything. I hit no thanks. It doesn't matter to me, especially since they are usually free or are too bad for anybody else to bother with getting.

I hope you're kidding, though I fear you are not

Agreed. If I have nothing of value to say or no feeling one way or the other, I don't rate it.

Yes. I'm not going to just leave an anonymous star rating, with nothing to say, and I'm not going to go and say the too often repeated mantra "It sucks" "I hate this" "horrible" That doesn't help anybody, especially not the dev.
