We all know the big names here on Touch Arcade. Games like MiniGore, Worms, Alive4Ever, ect. get tons of exposure off these forums. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for some really great games that flew under the radar?
iDropDead. It's way more fun than it looks, a good deal of content, lots of unlockables, several different modes, addictive scoring system and tearing cute teddy bears to shreds then smashing their brains in.
I've been enjoying The Myth Of Heroes Legend. It's great fun, cheap (two bucks), challenging, has Engrish translations, and it's a sort of fast turn-based combat game unlike any I've played before. Definitely worth a look, and not many people are looking.
I Love Katamari Clue Elemental Monster TD Zombie Hunter (7DA Apocolypse) International Athletics Cameltry WarMen iGuerilla 2 Dungeon Raiders Break Spin Killa Kitties From Compton Dr. Nano Annie's Wild Shot Batting 1000 Guinness World Records Mr. and Mrs. Tarzan Attack of the Dust Bunnies
Soul Trapper (lite version). It's an audio adventure, the only one in the app store, and a lot of people didn't "get it". Those who do, however, are pretty much unanimous in praising the game. There's a lite version available so you can try it out. Remember, though, to wear headphones while playing the game. It is absolutely essential when playing this game, as it uses positional audio to a great extent. Also: Exorcist, a puzzle game that uses the accelerometer and touch screen in a rather unique fashion. Buka (lite version), which has you protect this blob in space from incoming meteors and is pretty challenging. I never really thought Ignite (lite version) got it's due. It's a platformer that is really well done all around. World of Tunes (lite version) I don't think ever really got the attention it deserved. As close to Elite Beat Agents (Nintendo DS) as the iPhone/touch has. I've actually gone back and played Blade of Betrayal (lite version) more fully. I didn't like it the first time around, but that was a case of me playing only a bit of the game and judging it based on that rather than the game as a whole. It's honestly as close to a Metroid or Castlevania style action/adventure as can be found on this platform. Later levels give you the ability to open colored doors, and some of those doors exist on earlier levels that you went through sans those keys. And there's a bunch of achievements as well.
I so wanted to enjoy this game. It is clearly VERY well implemented, BUT, I couldn't get past the bit when you have to tap the button in time with your pulse to hypnotize you. It NEVER ended!!! I'm in the music profession, and even so I couldn't pass their test. What the hell...
Bobble Surfer!!...I mention that one everytime one of these threads comes up I don't think that 4x4 Jam got the attention it deserved either: its my favorite racing game for the platform Space Bikers and Crazy Choppers were some other great little games that didn't recieve much attention.
I like Cube a free FPS tech demo, Galaxy on Fire & Real Racing... ok the last two aren't under the radar but Cube is a great game if you can get used to the controls.
I would agree with 4x4 jam, but they haven't come through with the updates they promised. Right now, it's too light on content.
I think that they submitted the update a fair while back, cause they were holding a pre-update sale...but as we've all noticed, Apple has been slacking off lately...
