Well, I have a week to make space on my phone. Sod it, all my other games can go, I won't be playing anything else.......Ok, outwitters can stay...but that's it.
I hope you're trolling. Anyway, Async multiplayer is just what this game needed, updated graphics/engine or whatever I don't even care about, the original was great and I'd be more than happy to play that with async multiplayer, and 70+ maps! Looking forward to it, better not be intrusive IAP though.
Also, the IAP are only for extra maps but the initial $3 will get you a ton of skirmish and multiplayer maps to start off with so along with a lengthy campaign it's a great value for a measly 3 bucks. Especially considering the multiplayer will also be cross-platform very soon!!
Looking forward to this. Wondering what type of rankings it will have? For me, rankings can really add value if done right (ELO!) Outwitters didnt get rankings right in my book, unfortunately, and Hero Academy doesnt even have any (apart from the player run league).
Just watched the video...really puts Hero Academy and Outwitters to shame graphically and Uniwar...er, well, lets not even mention Uniwar in the same sentence as "graphically".
Uh, do graphics really matter in a TBS game? Uniwar is from over 3 years ago and launched off async TBS on the iOS? The iOS hadn't even been around for a year yet. Now it's almost Fall 2012 in the US. Either way, this should be a good game. That's one good release for next week.
I have never played Little War so pardon the following questions if this game should not support any of this. Are there different unit types? Sniper, infantry? Can units set ambushes in forests, buildings.. Etc? Can we transport rifleman troops in the helicopter, ships? What of kind armor vehicles are there? (Tank Types, Helicopter Types, Ship Types) Are the maps big enough to enjoy a full scale battle? Is there FFA (4 way battle online)? Is there 2v2?
Yes they do. Not more than the actual gameplay, of course not. But nowadays... Yes they do. Adds more immersion. Look how great Outwitters turned out.
Yes, here's a TON of units. There's like 6-8 infantry united, 6-7 armor united, like 4-5 air units, and 4-5 sea units. Not exact numbers, but you'll be more than satisfied. Its turn based so you can flank enemies if that's what your definition of "ambush is". Yes, you can transport infantry and armor with jeeps, helicopters, and ships. Some armor units include tanks, artillery, jeeps, etc. Maps are extremely varied. There's really small maps and huge maps. In the original game, there was this huge match which basically me and my bro ended up with like 30+ units each trying to capture fuel supplies and flanking. It was INSANE! Not to sure about multiplayer. I know there is online battle, not sure if its 2 vs 2.
Hehe, guilty as charged! Thanks, we really do think the online play rocks - can't stop playing it in the office. To clear up a point that seems to have been diluted from the original info, the iap's are totally non-intrusive, but the bad news is that this is because most of it is for extra multiplayer maps to reach the 70 being bandied about. You get 20 by default iirc. We will be exanding the number of maps over time, both those you get for free and those in the expansions. We already have an update planned for later with some new features and stacks more maps. We would've already made more maps but tbh the 120 we already did have left us a bit "creatively challenged" for a while. We do get that these are what players want though, just need a recharge first!
Great to hear, we copied the Elo ranking system right off the guys home page. (Elo is his name, it's not an acronym - surprised me as well!) We will probably be adding more multiplayer features in a future update as well. We never even thought of "official" leagues so want to work that in somehow, as well as official challenge competitions of some sort to win swag.
How important and or helpful will playing the first be? I own it but never got around to playing it sadly. Has been on my devices... But never have the time.
There's really not a learning curve here and you can jump into the second one without playing the first but if you have a few minutes I think your doing yourself an disservice by not opening the first one, one of the best TBS out there. And like I said, Great Big heaps on even more goodness. Try Great Little, I know you'll be amazed and want Great Big even more!
Even 20 maps is great when you look at Outwitters and Hero Academy, although I hope you can create more units / teams / items / abilities / content for IAP rather than just maps, then I wouldn't think twice about buying it, however please don't lock things away behind IAP just for the sake of it when it can be included in the main game already, since it is a premium game afterall.
