I'm hoping they fill the 2013 gap with a new made-for-mobile GTA V spin-off. GTA IV had Chinatown Wars, GTA V will no doubt get one too. It's just a matter whether it'll come out for dedicated gaming handhelds like Vita or 3DS first and we'll have to wait for a mobile port or whether mobile really has taken over and it'll actually launch on mobile simultaneously or even first. Price point will be interesting. If it is mobile first, can they really develop a brand new GTA and sell it for $9.99 on mobile or will a higher price be necessary and will mobile support that higher price.
happy to report it works on the ipad 1 unlike some games (cough cough crazy taxi). can't say it super smooth but its not unplayable either. can't believe its been 10 years. LOVEFIST RULES
Okay...starting to see the need for iTunes Match... Still haven't played this yet because I just had to load up a "VICECITY" playlist before I started. Except now it has to copy from my iPad all the updates on it from the last few days, like FIFA 13 (~1.8 GB)... For my Vice City Playlist, loaded up Billie Jean (since early reports suggest it might be gone due to the earlier copyright issues), "The Living Daylights" and "Take On Me" by A-Ha, "Beat It", "Home Sweet Home" by Motley Crew, "1999", "In the Air Tonight", "Eye of the Tiger", "Pride (In the Name of Love)", and "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You"
From the game description, if you create a music playlist called VICECITY in iTunes or in the Music app, you can play be songs in it from the Tape Deck "station" while driving around in the game.
Loving this! I drove him around on a bike for practically 30 mins just listening to the soundtrack! The game looks superb on my iPad Mini and runs silky smooth. Having a ball reliving Vice City, same cheesy dialogue and amusing chat from the people on the street.
Game quit out on me, while I was just starting the game up, watching the cutscenes. iPod touch 4th gen.
In-game cutscenes, or pre-rendered? It is quite a heavy app on a lower-end device, and I am experiencing the same problems. Trying a restart-reinstall-restart right now. Will report back soon...
Did that, does the same thing. Got to a vehicle this time and it crashed the app again. This game and MC4 does the same thing.
German Version Hi, does anyone know yet, if the german version is censored agian? I stopped playing gta3 because of that, because it is really stupid. Looking forward to your information
Well, it seems to run fine, but I can't access the save menu. (Try walking into the cassette to save, but then my iDevice crashes back into the home screen.) I tried it with both iCloud enabled and disabled.
SO basically I shouldn't waste my money for this on the iPad 1. I remember the horrible experience I had with GTA III even though Rockstar said it was compatible. Should have added it was compatible (but runs like crap).
