This thread is very active currently, and as I wrote post discussion moved quite a bit, but now I see that I probably shouldn't have written it in first place. Cheers.
That's how you make money in all business. It's just the way things are. You bend the rules and alter perceptions to make people buy whatever it is you're selling. I wouldn't call it Rockstar's fault, though. I would call it the fault of society.
Yes, it is. There's page after page of off-topic discussion in this thread that needs to be deleted. Keep this thread on topic or appropriate action will be taken.
I don't want to get involved/bogged down in the iPod Touch 4G aspect of the discussion, but for the sake of correctness I wanted to point out that Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories have very little to do with GTA III and Vice City from a technical perspective. Rockstar Leeds headed the development of the "Stories" and they specifically designed a new game engine for the PSP, because the RenderWare engine that the parent games used would not be appropriate. When the "Stories" games were brought back to PS2, even though some improvements to textures and draw distance were made (admittedly minor), the games were noted to have worse graphics than their respective RenderWare based parent games. The "Stories" may have made GTA portable, but they were not as graphically/processing intensive as GTA III or Vice City.
Right No more arguments, specially name-calling, i mean name-calling on the internet is the worst thing ever. Using the word 'retard' is very insulting in todays society. When i had an ipod touch 4th gen GTA III kept crashing, i emailed Rockstar tech support as i said it mentions that on the app description that it should work fine yep it crashes constantly. Two weeks later there was an update, that update solved the crashing i had on GTA III. Rock Star i'm sure will bring out a patch if people contact them and tell them about any issues they had specially with Vice City. One problem is devs cant say 'ipod 5 and above' on the app store, they can either choose one set of critieria for ipod or none. I've seen a few examples where it says ipod 4th gen compatible but in the app description in capitals it then says WONT WORK ON 4th GEN - SORRY' kinda thing. Walking Dead wouldnt work on ipod touch 4th gen despite saying so (did get my money back).
Well i dont know if theyve updated it for ipod touch 4 (i've now got a 5th gen) but at the time the app description (at the side) said it would work and it didnt, i think Apple to be fair needs to change the ways devs can change that. If a games ipod touch 5 only they dont seem to be able to select 'ipod touch 5 only' in the compatible devices. They can write in big letters in the description 'ipod touch 5 only' but some people just click and try to install. Bit of a mess really!
http://ca.ign.com/articles/2005/10/14/gta-liberty-city-stories-interview Gordon Hall, President of Rockstar Leeds, explicitly says that they built a brand new engine specifically for the PSP with brand new assets for Liberty City Stories and that they aren't simply reusing or improving previous GTA tech. This new PSP engine was also used in Vice City Stories. It isn't related to what was used in GTA III, Vice City or San Andreas. http://ca.ign.com/articles/2007/03/06/grand-theft-auto-vice-city-stories-review?page=1 http://www.gamespot.com/grand-theft-auto-vice-city-stories/reviews/grand-theft-auto-vice-city-stories-review-6167108/?page=2 Reviews often note that Vice City Stories doesn't hold up that well to the original PS2 GTAs or take advantage of the extra performance the PS2 offers over the PSP. Vice City Stories may offer some newer graphical effects, but arguably that's a gloss placed over the lower quality underlying textures and lower polygon models.
They said the pinball game momo wouldn't work but it did and I assure you the walking dead does to on 4g. I don't know if the iOS update changed it or not but once in a while games crash even on 5g. I'm glad rockstar understood it needed a fix update for touch 4 users and i hope it plays better then 3 though.
Can you please stop complaining? This thread is meant for actual game discussion and help, not yelling at devs of one of the most common household names in gaming because of one guy's problem. Please, lets just talk about the GAME.
I'm at the point in the game where I can buy property and the status menu says that I'm only 15% into the game, is that right?
Buy property and that unlocks new missions, not sure about the 15%, sounds about right. A lot of the % is collectables
Thank you! I tried to tell him that and I was put in a timeout for 5 days I thought spamming a thread with complaints over and over was against forum rules? I don't get how he gets with murder and people who tried to make sense in to him get punished Anyway back to the game. So, I finished the game a while a go and I went a head and created a mayhem. I was a 6 star criminal and somehow captured a tank. After countless times, I was able to park it in my garage. I saved the game and died purposefully. When I went back to my garage ( mansion), the tank wasn't there Is this a bug?
