If I remember right this was the case in the PS2 version of the game as well. You couldn't really free aim on the console version for some reason. I assume this is why you can't with the controller

Actually it was possible on the ps2 version as I recall.

Of course you could free aim on the console, a lot of people never used the lock-on. In this port the controller support is not all there and may never be, making some onscreen button reliant stuff impossible. We still have not heard a whisper about a patch concerning anything, at least iPhone 5 owners are saving money on their gas bills while using their phone for a portable griddle in the meantime... ;)

Yep can confirm there was free aim on ps2. Funny thing is on the ios version, using the PS3 controller (not tried any others and the cydia mod only just came out), if you press 'O' you begin auto firing and you can switch between locked on targets using L1 and L2, you can also free aim using the RIGHT joystick. Your right thumb is busy pressing 'O' so you have to use your left thumb which is unnatural.

Still at least I only have an old ipad 2 and iphone 4s, bit of lag but no overheating issues, not even warm :D

lucky you , my 5s and mini R feels like its going to burn itself. miniR feels slightly less heat than the 5s. lucky I still have my 5 around. but still too small to hold all the messy button all over the small screen. still waiting for steel series controller from pre order.

I have a Moga controller and I can't free aim, so I'm guessing the PS3 mapping is exactly like the Moga mapping (minus select, L3, and R3). I really think WDS should have had an option to change what each button does. It wouldn't be that hard to do; there are only TWO (overpriced) official iOS 7 controllers out now from what I understand (Moga and the Logitech one).

Are you jailbroken? Because I cant see Apple allowing button mapping, possibly the game designers aka Dead Trigger 2. The other option is Blutrol? I never used the first one but I understand it allowed mapping of buttons. Blutrol is being updated in February and I was waiting for that until 'Controllers for all' arrived.

Why is this happeneing? I was half thinking about upgrading to the 5S but im saving my upgrade for the Iphone 6 tbh, more and more reasons keep popping up. TBH im been impressed from the performance of the A5 chip in the 4S and pad2, does get laggy when things get busy but otherwise I still cant believe I have San Andreas on a mobile device of this quality. Kids today dont know how good they got it right?

I am not sure if the jailbreakers will be able to access the screen touch inputs similar to how the SixAxis app on Android works, where you literally set and size zones to emulate screen touches. That would be nice. Somehow they are able to do that as well as directly access any protocol for digital stick that the game might have at the same time, meaning that you can have your cake and eat it too. As for this game, well it is an amazing port but I still have not seen so much as a whisper about any patches or fixes of any kind, it would be nice if they were able to give the game one last massage as well as spruce up the controls. I still grind my teeth in rage every time my left thumb suddenly turns into a view control while doing 150mph on a crotch rocket.

Lack of free aim with ps3 controller was such a disappointment when I tried it yesterday.

Has anyone else with a ps3 controller had the issue of disconnecting the controller and the keyboard popping up? It only happens on this game is the strange thing, not really bothered because when I disconnect it I'm usually done but still kinda odd

I've just lost all the save icons in the game. Anyone else experiencing this?

I lost the Doherty garage save icon for a while, but after a few missions, it reappeared

Also, for those experiencing only commercials in radio stations, turning off "radio autotune" in the audio setup menu seemed to have fixed a couple of stations for me, though others now only play music (and not just commercials) on occasion (as opposed to never a tall playing music, so I guess it's a step up)

(It may be worth noting that I haven't upgraded to 1.01 after hearing about the framerate issues getting worse, mine are touchy and unpredictable as it is - iPod Touch 5, iOS 7.0.4)

K, thanks, I'll try it out. I was just looking at that setting the other day and was questioning whether to try that out, but never got around to it.

Have you killed your apps and rebooted your iPod? I'm running the same software and device and mine runs perfectly fine

I do that every time, in addition to running a "Battery Saver" app to reallocate app memory before running it and also turning wifi off, and it'll usually run well for a while, but after enough time, the framerate begins to stutter and never relaxes after it starts, haha
I might need to clear up some space though, I dunno
Does the framerate on your device dip regularly, out of curiosity? Even if it's slight?

Cheers! I'm not sure if the allocation feature actually has an impact on the speed of the device, but it makes me feel better so I run it all the same :3

I think it does. What I do Is have only the one app u wana use in multitask, then allocate and multitask straight to the game. It works for me
