Sounds like the classic quick save right before you get lethally hit except it's automatically done. Never happened to me throughout the story missions in SA though.
This has kind of been mentioned, the checkpoint system was a bit of a crude implementation and a person should run two save files with one behind the other by a mission or two regardless... I think someone mentioned that as a 'fix' of sorts you can go into the menu and just reload - but this isn't specifically what you are talking about. Honestly I haven't seen too many 'checkpoints' yet that saved me any time at all.
I bought this and really want to play it but the controls and camera are my main issue. Tweaking didn't help so I've deleted it. You really need a game pad for this.
The onscreen controls are 'almost' good enough. Why delete it? You will start having some controller choices soon enough. If the manufacturers don't get their asses in gear the iOS 7 jailbreak will open up a variety of controller options.
The touch controls aren't bad if given enough time to adjust. On iphone I can understand not being able to play very well but they're functional on iPad. It is extremely disappointing there are no cheats and the Hydra automatically switches between plane and hover mode, I don't like that at all.
Who else here besides me is having the worst possible experience with the radio stations? Almost all radio stations in my game are only constantly looping commercials with no music at all, and I feel like this bug is not affecting many at all; should I maybe delete it and reinstall it?
This game runs like butter on my nexus 7 2nd generation. Beautiful port! I've never played the GTA's but it's cool to discover something this great from the past. The touch controls work great.
I don't know if it's me or what but I have noticed that when I'm driving I have my finger on the gas pedal then all of sudden I start slowing down and then I have to hit the gas again. It just keeps repeating this.
Yeah, I've tried everything to fix it, including starting a new game, which worked for a bit, but between beating missions and saving, the stations returned to their old tricks. Hopefully in a not too far away update they fix this, as that's the only way it will work.
I'm stuck. I haven't been on it for a few days so I cant really remember where I left it. I've only played about an hour or so in total. I don't appear to be on a mission, as far as I can see, and nor are there any missions to pick up. The only things showing on the map are shops and pizza places, I've been home and nothing there. The last thing mentioned on the brief, aside from shop visits, is "Yeeaahh, CJ... Hey, CJ, tell me why I didn't finish high school." And then "Get in the Van with Ryder." But I can't find it anywhere. Any ideas?
It shows you started a "break-in" mission with Ryder which was left unfinished. You cannot manually save during missions and it seems you had not gotten to a checkpoint to save during this particular mission. Go back to Ryder's house (on the left of your house after the walkway) to see if the mission would reactivate (red marker). If not try your autosave to see if it would get you anywhere close to your current mission. That's why i always save after every two missions and i keep two save files at all times, manual save and cloud save. Good luck.
I remember now I had to defend him while he was stealing guns and ammo from the army place, and when I failed I just turned it off for then meaning to go back to it. Nothing's happening when I go to Ryder's, but I've managed to find an earlier save that isn't too far back, thank you Edit: Ah damn, that save keeps crashing! Looks like i'll have to start again.
Grab the free 'FPS Meter' from the Play Store, set it to show in the lower left of the screen and for the sub meter to show 'average over past minute'. Then screech up and down a street and play with various visual settings until you have an average that stays above 33fps or so. Pulling in the draw distance is obvious, details at medium, and you will find res doesn't change much. Considering that the gen 2 N7 actually has quite a wimpy GPU, the game certainly does play well. A healthy overclock of CPU and GPU help as well...
I don't need to grab the free fps meter to know that the game plays like "butter" on my device. It does run real well. I was playing on it for a few hours yesterday. I've had no problems. The touch controls work very well for the game. frame rate and graphics are really good. The specs for the N7 gen 2 are quite impressive for a tablet. This is one of the best tablets out on the market. I could honestly say it runs games nicely. Great tablet.
Good to know it runs well on N7, will try it once I'm back from vacation. Hopefully iOS save games load so I can play it with my PS3 controller.
First of all, sorry for the android invasion guys, but there are cross gamers here and the android sub forum is a graveyard. We still love our apple devices too, I promise. It runs 'okay' on the Nexus 7, my final settings after a lot of testing were the following... (Keep in mind I am OC'd to 1.84GHz on CPU (from 1.5 stock) and 504MHz on GPU (from 400 stock) and have forced immersive mode) Visual effects - medium Resolution - 50% Draw Distance - 40% Shadows - classic Car Reflections - low The Adreno 320 in the '13 Nexus 7 is clocked fairly low and the obvious Achilles heel when you push this many pixels, as an example my Note 2 plays the game at about 20% higher framerate with res/view cranked. Framerate is *everything* in this game. Ideally you never want it to dip below 30fps. I am getting used to the finicky floating d-pad and would rather avoid controllers. The relocation and resizing of onscreen buttons in this game set a new standard, there is literally nothing more a person could ask for - I mean, other than the fact that the left side of the screen should never allow view manipulation. For the lazy and greedy people there are already nice hacks out for android, a huge bank account if nothing else. The iOS people will have to wait for that jailbreak to start hacking/modding...
First of all. I am also a console(ps3) and pc gamer so I know what good resolution, framerates are. I also know that the nexus 7 (2) plays this game great. The resolution, framerates are fine. I understand that you know your devices, and you seem to be a very technical type of person but my nexus 7, 2nd gen works just fine on this game, now please don't take this post as an insult. I don't want to start a flame war here.
