Although the other guy undoubtedly played the game for a long time, I've "only" played for about 15 hours... and according to the stats I am a little more than a 3rd through the game. Okay thanks, I'll try that later. I think that's what I did. While I fell I would move the stick forward. However to open the parachute I hit the open button instead of double tapping the screen. Maybe that could be the problem. EDIT: Okay thanks for the help guys, the tips worked and I finally passed the mission. Thank you.
If anyone is interested, I made a starter save with some side missions completed (like Paramedic and the spray tags). I haven't done any story missions. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=214095
Ok finally beat the last mission at a game time of 21hrs. Only 54% complete but I Don't need it, I just wanted to beat all the story missions. Did Zeroes optional missions for a total of 96 missions. Just an amazing game and a true classic. Controls and gameplay were fine on retina mini and didn't have any pier 69 issues. It crashed in spots but I got through it. It's cheap to give ports credit as mobile games but this one deserves a lot of credit, and at the price it's an absolute steal.
How do you get past the second race for Wu Zi Mu? Are there any shortcuts? Because I've tried about 50 times and I hit just about everything on the screen!
I finally got a chance to purchase this, it's out on android now. I can see what all the hoopla is about. This game is fantastic, it's like being in a whole new world with all the interaction. Awesome game!
The trick to all the races is to take it slow and steady. Tap the accelerator rather than brake. You can make a ton of small mistakes and still win, you just need to avoid big mistakes. Use a fast car as well but make sure it handles well for the turns.
Anyone else having trouble accessing zero's missions? When i go to do a mission all I see is a propertu for sale logo. Also the save infront of the garage dissapeared...
You need to buy the property for the missions to appear lol. It's an asset. Once you complete all the missions it generates money for you.
It also helps to pull a pit manuver on the competition early in the race, they spin and it gives you plenty of time to slow down and take the race smooth.
You have to buy Zero's shop first to get missions. If the save icon at the garage disappeared you're on a mission. You probably got one from the phone or something, it's easy to start a mission by accident at certain points in San Fierro.
I am mostly playing this on my Note 2 and Nexus 7 now, but yeah - the onscreen buttons and actions are perfect... But holy moly does that virtual stick ever suck. It is broken in all sorts of ways. I find myself constantly 'losing it', and it behaves the same across all devices. If you are driving a car and DO NOT lift your thumb off the screen for steering, with a modest 35% or so analog sensitivity, it works great. The minute you need to do some frantic stuff that requires lifting that thumb off and on the screen, the floating pad just falls apart. Ironically the unique choice to implement dual gyro and analog (or buttons, but they are just too damned small and close together) works quite well, but I just can't get used to it. If you have it set to light it is too wimpy to help enough, and if you have it set to heavy you *could* use that as a primary steering action but it just doesn't feel like it belongs. The floating pad could be fixed, other games have done a much better job of it. It is hard to explain why it sucks, it is like it just ignores a quick repositioning of your thumb. It acts like this on my android devices (that have much higher framerate) so it isn't a priority input polling failure. A perfect example of very similar controls that are *perfect* is Heroes & Castles, someone tell WarDrum to load that up and see how it should be done. Edit: Hmmm... I just figured out the problem. If you lift your thumb on the left and then then put it back down just that tiny little bit too far away from where you had it, the action reverts to moving the view - which is ridiculous as this whole zone should be pad only. Try it out, do a quick swipe up on the floating pad and then a quick swipe down just a little ways away. They really need to fix this, the view changing zone should not extend to this whole lower left third of the screen.
While on a date with Helena, I put on my custom playlist and the game started lagging while speeding through San Fierro. As soon as I switched back to a stock station the game was back speedy. Average Bit Rate of .mp3's: 128 - 192kbps About 43 songs in the playlist iPad 4 iOS6 The Playlist works well while riding Dolo though. I'll do some other tests like shortening the playlist etc. and report back.
^ more ram is being used with your music playing. Game needs further optimising, because idevices still have little RAM.
This game is simply too big in too many ways to maintain a clean thread just discussing the actual gameplay. If people are looking for that, there are decade old FAQ's out there that were very nicely put together. A unique thread in the 'general games discussion' should and is handling people offering a variety of save files, and we have already had a section of this thread surgically pulled that drifted into off topic arguing (possibly sniping) and yeah I have been guilty of every crime mentioned so far. As long as we play nice, there is valuable info coming out of this thread. I doubt WarDrum is reading it, but hopefully they are working on several issues that we can hope to see resolved. Once I figured out that the floating pad on the left was reverting to 'look' all the time it explained all my control issues, and frankly I won't be playing the game on any device until it is fixed - using an external controller is NOT the answer, if I am going to do that why not just plug my PS2 or Xbox back into the tv.
Does any one else have the problem where you fail a mission and when you restart from the checkpoint the character(s) you were with immediately die over and over ?
