Can't climb is SA. Supposed to be able to but R* hadn't figured it out before the games release. Car washes were supposed to work also.

If I remember right you'll have to do them again. At least it's fun right?

Tap them and then tap the thumbs up,depending on your respect you can run a 2-man gang up to a 7-man gang, Merry Christmas!

Thanks, I though you need to target their heads like in the PC version.

Thank you for that wonderful tactic. :D

I'm confused... Some people say this runs smoothly on iphone 4 while other say don't buy it on iphone 4.

There are whacky optimization issues across the board. I think is is very playable on my iPad 3, but people with retina Minis seem to have the biggest issues. Are you sure you don't have a 4S? An iPhone 4 is quite wimpy. I would go out on a limb and guess you aren't running iOS 7, either.

My non S iPhone 4 screamed before I put iOS 6 on it, I hadn't saved my hash blobs or whatever so I couldn't downgrade but the phone was entirely useless in every way after that.

I'm sure, I looked at the box, in te settings, and my camera. I think there is a possibility of some iphone 4's that are newer having better systems because I got mine this year in February. It's running smoothly an I did not lower any settings.

If stuttering and lag are preventing them from completing even basic missions, like the case is for some people here, then they have every right to complain.

And to return back to one if my earlier posts. I got my iPad Air and haven't had any issue at all. Works perfectly with a very steady framerate.

Coming from a non retina ipad, it looks absolutely beautiful.

Hmm. Anyone have any tips for getting better health? I can't last very long at my current state. Also Medic missions are difficult to pull off mobile, so. Save files?

This thread keeps going off the rails, I know I don't help but if I see someone saying "well movies are 24 FPS so..." it is everything in me not to run screaming into the mountains never to return again. There is exactly ZERO comparison between the two topics.

The bottom line is... Even a measly 30 FPS would be perfectly acceptable, but what hurts are the sudden downward spikes into single digits. These stutters, hitches, lags, choppiness, etc, this is what makes the game unplayable. When you swing your view towards a specific direction, there may be too many polys to draw all at once, or one too many textures to try and swap in and out of the buffer. The devs fight this battle and have learned to cheat in many different ways, by fudging view distance, by implementing various forms of tessellation, etc. Even Carmack's savant level brilliant engines still drew the framework for an entire level for every single frame, which meant that level designers were bound by insanely strict hidden rules in order to maintain framerate - it was quite a leap forward when he found a way to block drawing past closed doors.

Open world environments are the worst imaginable scenario for engine coders. If you take a game like GTA:SA and force it onto unfamiliar hardware you are faced with some ugly choices. Pulling in the draw distance is the very first thing you do, but the city can only be so smoggy. After that, well you need to drop the res and start yanking details - shadows, reflections, smoke, etc.

I still think that given the severely dedicated hardware design of iOS devices, it is a downright miracle that they are able to port San Andreas at all. The higher end devices will obviously see patches, but don't be surprised if they are forced to pull some dramatic maneuvers to try and maintain framerate.

    Game-Breaking Glitch

I figured I'd ask you, since from the looks of it you got 100%. Did you ever experiance a gltich in the last mission of Pilot School, the Parachute one? I a experiancing a glticy where as I fall into the red circle the red goes away, and I cannot complete the mission. I just stand on the ground in the middle of the ring. This is currently gamebreaking because I need to get at least bronze in it to continue in the storyline missions.

Have you or anyone else on here experianced that gltich?

You guys are seriously hardcore. I doubt the list of people that have 'finished' the game is very long. I mean... Wow, the hours...

Dude, what the heck are you talkin' about?
It runs super smooth on an iPad 4 so there aren't too much polys or too much textures to draw.
It only affects A7 devices. It's not optimized. So why do they have to strip out features to maintain a good framerate considering the A7 is twice as fast as the A6X?

I was more referring to causes of framerate dips in general, and as for me the game plays great on my iPad 3. WarDrum is obviously going to have to end up custom cooking releases for each iOS chipset, which might be tricky. Let us not forget that the original release for the PS2 only hovered around 30fps at the best of times, with way less resolution to deal with.

Yeah, I experienced a similar glitch. How I got through that mission is by just standing in the middle of the ring for a couple of minutes and running around a little, then the screen faded to black and that's how I passed it.

It's not a glitch, you just have to follow the parachuting instructions closely and then it will let you land properly, just do what it says, like double tap the center of the screen to open parachute now!
