I've just got cheesed off with this game now, the performance on my iPad is truly shit. I'm not asking for a refund as I'm hoping this poor performance will be patched, but until then I'm deleting it to use the space for other games. Awesome game, but fps spikes and stuttering ruin it atm.
I am stuck on that glitch. I have no other missions to play. I play on a first gen iPad mini...pretty crappy frame rate, also.
Framerates pretty good on an ipad 4, ironically maybe it's the best cause the ipad air people seem so unhappy.
There should be an ombudsman. Devs are getting away with blue murder just sloppily porting old out of date games into the mobile platform without any thought of QA except to get YOUR $$$. Once they have your $$ its your problem. They couldn't care less. They've got your money. The consumer comes last in this business and we are getting cheated so much. How many times does a dev not get a payment as opposed to how many times do we not get an IAP or something go wrong our end? Payments go through in seconds but refunds take up to 10 days. If there's problems they shouldn't release it but they do and they're not stupid they're just greedy and couldn't care less about your problems because they got you $$. You guys now have to follow up and nag them or go to Apple and they're no refund policy and fight for a refund. I wish you luck wasting your time.
I get that they may have rushed this out for Christmas but I do think it will be updated with further optimisations for A7 / bug fixes. If this performance on A7 is not able to be improved I would rather have the option to reduce graphics settings. Framerate is everything.
It's a shame so many people seem to be having technical issues with this game. I'm a bit confused as to why this is because personally, on my 1st gen ipad mini, I've not really had any issues so far (10 hours in to the game). I had two crashes earlier on when loading the game but nothing since, and the game has run smoothly and without any problems. The frame rate has been fine as well - the odd stutter here and there but hardly noticeable to me and certainly not anything to make the game unplayable. So far I've been enjoying the game much more than I thought 9 years after I last played it - in fact I'm possibly enjoying it even more this time around. I think that a lot of the mechanics introduced in San Andreas were a huge step forward for the series and still hold strong today. Anyway - I'm beginning to feel guilty enjoying the game after reading lots of the comments on this forum. Perhaps I've just got really low standards in what I expect from my games....but then I used to get excited playing 'Centipede' on my Dragon 32 Home Computer in the early 1980's so there's probably no hope for me.....
Having zero issues on my iPhone 5s. Did you reboot device after installing the game? The only "issue" I think I have is heat. But that's expected. I also have 3.0gb of free storage & closed all other background apps prior to booting gta up. Follow these steps and it should run just fine.
I think thats going over the top. I had problems with Vice City crashing on my ipod 4th gen a while back, emailed the dev, Rockstar got back to me , apologised and said an update was on the way. If these games were $40 and full of bugs then i can understand, but when most games are $1-10 i dont mind waiting a week or so for an update. I agree ! I think games like these should be for people 25+ with a disclaimer about 'no this doesnt have 10,0000 levels, there arent costumes, theres no game centre, theres no shadows, theres no multiplayer, its just a great old retro game from 10 years ago, just enjoy !....'
Same, I'm also experiencing the same problem... Ahhh, it pisses me off so much.. But hope they fix it ASAP!!
Dude, the majority is talking about of bad framerates on iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina, not 5S (did u read the thread?). Some people (including me) even reset their device trough itunes to no avail. So it's obvious we tried to closing all apps and rebooting the device before starting the game, isn't it? If your 5S had to push 4x the amount of pixels it would also suffer from bad framerates. The only reason your 5S is doing kinda well (it runs better on 5 than 5S), is due to the less amount of pixels. It isn't optimized for the A7. The 5S compensates this with raw hardware power while pushing much less pixels than an iPad. So no, it doesn't run fine. I also think they rushed this out. But what's the deal if i can't play it?
The GTA engines have a history of clunky ports and no real 'patches' in the end. I don't think ANY of the 3D games have played to half their potential on a PC, which is insane. Both San Andreas and GTA IV ran like crap even on a pimped out hotrod of a computer, with 'some' progress made through the years. It is quite an achievement to port GTA:SA to a touchscreen, I am not that far into the game but I don't feel like I am fighting the controls much more than I did back on a PS2... The free aim and precise driving was never the highlights of this game. Maybe in light of all that I am willing to extend quite a bit of leeway to the framerate, which so far has never annoyed me - and I am more sensitive than most. I don't plan to play past the spot where you get your first RC missions, which I can't even imagine doing on a touchscreen. They were near impossible with a controller.
Gambling problem Is anyone else having this problem with payout: I go to Inside track betting shop, bet on a horse that wins, it says on the screen that I won, but my winnings are not transferred to my cash as it was the case in PS2 version, so I'm wondering if this is a bug or something?? PS why are there always commercials on my favorite radio station K-DST?
The horse betting is bugged, hopefully an oversight and not an apple decree from high. The radio stations do seem less random than they should be, but remember that the type of vehicle you jump into means a lot too. Hopefully the Devs that did the port are massaging the engine and we will see some patches that boost framerate and such...
