Ow, so it heat up a lot. I had several games which lagged but i guess that's because they aren't optimized for the A7 like Oceanhorn (but they fixed it with an update). I'll see and report back how it runs later. It's 2C outside here ^_^
I wont' be buying this. Was enjoying VC on iPad up to when I had to raid a building and found the controls impossible for aiming. I can't seem to play it without a keyb and mouse. It's nice to drive around though.
Yikes after hearing all this I'm afraid it's going to run like crap on my touch 5. Lol I'm to lazy to convert centigrade, but it's 10 below here with the wind chill factor- that's fairenheight of course Also drinking some Samuel Smith organic strawberry ale for breakfast this morning, much better than OJ
The problem I had with San Andreas is that it did not have checkpoints as now GTA 5 implemented, finally. I didn't come close to finishing it because I was so frustrated with having to drive to the person who gives me the mission, drive to the mission area, die, having to drive back to that person who gave me the mission, back to the mission area, hope I don't die, repeat if I did fail, etc etc. I felt that 70% of my time in San Andreas was spent driving back and forth this way, and it got old quickly. Hopefully they will add in this version the checkpoint system found in GTA 5. If anybody knows if indeed they did, please confirm!
Oh... Woah... The game blew my expectations out of the water. On my iPad 3 it is *stunning*. The controls are awesome, and I am flat out flabbergasted at the polish. It looks like a brand new game. This is an incredible turning point in iOS gaming. Now we need Red Dead Redemption...
I agree with the other guy and would love to see Manhunt on the IOS personally. That would be pretty tight!
I think I read somewhere that Rockstar has implemented checkpoints in this version, more in line with a mobile experience. I've also seen some "checkpoint saved" messages in Sanuku's videos too.
Ok but an iPad 3 is a step up from an iPod touch 5g processor wise right? Would love to hear how it runs on a 4s or 5g touch.
They're doing these on or about the game's ten year anniversary so you've got quite a wait. Not to mention there isn't an iOS device in existence that could run 4 or 5 well now. Even a 5S isn't as powerful as a PS3. At least not as powerful for processing graphics.
Looking for more impressions from anyone running this on a Mini Retina... Surprised this has not been optimized for A7 devices - can anyone else confirm?
I can confirm this runs like crap on Mini Retina. It's far from unplayable but it feels like GTA3 on an iPhone 4 when it got released. If this runs smooth on iPad 4, then SA is definitely NOT optimized for A7 SoC. Man, i'm pissed off -.-
I can confirm bad A7 performance. It has noticeable frame drops on my iPad Air. It's better on my 5S but it still drops frames here and there but nothing like the iPad. I'd say it's playable given the controls anyway. I'd rather get the option to turn off reflections than play with this FPS, they look cool but not necessary IMO.
Ye u can see how bad the framerate is. Constant stuttering and lagg. Gosh. I've also an iPhone 5(without S) but i want to play it on a bigger screen. I mean...for what did i buy myself a new iPad?
