i read most of the thread.. has anyone found out about cheats in this game? also, is it me or are shields in this game super rare? i don't remember it being that rare but i also don't remember much of the game. i was watching a youtube video of one of the missions where the author's home base/safe house had all power ups. he mentioned doing the 100 hidden packages? for it. any other hints of that sort? he also mentioned doing hospital runs, is there a level system to those side missions?
100 packages do indeed give you all weapons and power-ups available at your safe house. You must finish 12 consecutive side missions to complete them. Finish all Vigilante.(use a police car)and your armor and health are increased. Finish all Paramedic(use ambulance)and you get infinite sprint. Finish all Firefighter(use firetruck)and you are fireproof.
Interesting to note... I just upgraded to a 4S and restored from my 3GS backup so I wouldn't lose all my saved games. When starting GTA3, I noticed there was still no blood, shadows, or lights. I guess it was still set up for the 3GS. I uninstalled and reinstalled, lost my save but got all of the A5 effects. Runs amazingly on the 4S by the way!
Amen it looks awesome on the 4s. I just got a 4s for christmas and this was the first game I picked up lol.
I remember playing GTA 3 on my PC few years ago, now i'm playing it on my iPhone. Thats great, hope they will port more old games to iOS

Just beat it last night (2nd attempt) The best advice I can give is to not worry about shooting the boat after the start... Work on getting as close to him as possible.. Once you have a couple quick shots in you should be good to go!

those car checkpoint missions are a ��������ing pain in the ass. I was like 2 checkpoints away on gripped WITH 2 stars on my first try but failed at the end. After that I kept failing miserably and couldnt get past likee 6 checkpoints. It took me ages to beat the central park one too. I havent even bothered with the one on the first island.
That's great! Just got myself a new White iPhone 4S tonight and GTA 3 was the first game I tried on it. Looks and plays beautifully.
Has anyone been able to get the Dodo to fly using the slingshot technique? The longest i've been able to fly it is for about 45 seconds.

the targeting is very annoying why cant we have a simple tap on the person to target like gangstar rio so we know we are killing the right person
