That's makes no sense. An iPad 2 has a much better processor and ram. The smartest thing to do if you are stuck with an old device like an iPod touch 4G (September 2010 release & it's almost 2012), IS to upgrade. Anyone can sell it and buy the iPad 3.
GTA3 is pretty old, and you could just buy it for your PS2, PC or whatever on Craigslist for like $5.00 or less. Or just ask a kid down your street to borrow it..im sure there's a TON of copies floating around collecting dust. just my opinion. Merry Christmas, BE SAFE!
In the end I got over the no free aiming thing and completed the game. It's very good and I hope they eventually port later GTAs. For San Andreas the MINIMUM requirement would probably be 4S/iPad 2 and to run full graphics we would need newer hardware (as of yet unreleased).

I think his reasoning is that the iPad 3 is rumored to release on Feb 24, so you might as well wait for that instead of going through the hassle of buying an iPad 2 now, and trying to sell it (for less?) in a couple of months.
Last 2 iPads were released in April, that's why I think for me personally, makes no sense. A rumor is just that. Would be great if it is coming out much earlier. I feel sorry for those with iPod touches/iPad 1's because of only having 256 ram. iPhone 4 at least has more ram but the A4 is just old and the A6 or whatever processor is in the iPad 3 will run circles around it. Rather than deal with endless crashes, I highly recommend to upgrade. iPad 2's are highly sought after on Craigslist and Ebay.
idk why everyone says it doesnt work on there ipod 4th gen. i mean i bought it day 1 on my ipod 4th gen and it has run flawlessly since, and still does. ive had no crashes at all.
This runs great on my iPad 1 and I have enabled the lights and blood. Have had no issues at all. It runs better then it did on my old pc that I played GTA on for hours. Reboot befor each session and it works really good. -Altrez
I keep trying this tactic to no avail. I park the cars correctly, but when I run to e rooftop, the cars disappear before ive even fired the first shot. Maybe this is because im playing on an ipad1, so the ram limitations are forcing scenery like that to vanish faster than on other devices?
I am happy now that the game runs great on my iPad, can someone link me the post with the lighting and blood files and how to install it? I cant seem to find it
Here's what I did on my i4. When 8-Ball hides himself behind that box while you have to go to the rooftop, take a car (I took the nearby van) and run him over. He won't die, he'll just get stuck under the vehicle and therfore his stupidity won't get him killed and you can pass the mission. Just in case, you should destroy those explosive red barrels near the box 8-Ball hides behind before he gets there.
I have read in other forums that deleting the radio station folder will make the game runs smoother, is it true? Has anyone done it?
