GTA 3 just crashes on my iPad 1 after a few mins, tried to get a refund from Apple but I dont think they're going to give it... Well I spent $5 on a game that doesnt work... Also I tried everything (deleting and reinstalling, clearing multitask bar, rebooting device, restore from backup, etc.), nothing works.
What do you mean upgrade my device? I'm running unjailbroken iOS 5.0.1 and I thought I already said I tried all the above. Honestly what have you been smoking? Do you even have the game? The requirements and description clearly stats it supports iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4, iPad 1, iPad 2 and requires iOS 4.3 or higher.
How many apps do you have installed currently? Infinity Blade 2's problematic launch on the iPad 1 and iphone4 revealed that every app installed on the device consumes abit of memory at all times for the app icon so that you never see a loading screen if icons when hitting the home button. iPad 1 and iPhone 4 have half the memory of their follow ups so if you have a whole lot of apps installed this may be your issue.
After playing this game for a little while, I come away with this: It looks pretty ugly on anything lower than ip4s and iPad2. The missions are quite tedious compared to other gta games I've played. But on the positive note, the hype for this release did get me to purchase Chinatown Wars for my iPad and boy what a fun game. It also looks 10 times better than gta3 does on my iPad as well. I thought the cartony and top down style would ruined the experience but once I got used to it in five mins, I was having a blast. If anyone isn't quite thrilled with gta3 like you thought you would, I'd like to suggest CTWs. You might just like it more just like me.

And your point is mute. Doesn't matter how many/what size of the apps he is running. The problem is with iOS 5.0.1. It is the equivalent of running Windows Vista on a PC. Resource HOG pure and simple, designed to make you believe you need a new device. I am running GTA3 on an iPod Touch 4G with iOS 4.3.1 pushing a modded set file that enables every graphic option, and I mean every option. My framerate will drop to 20 when in heavy traffic while raining at night. It has NEVER crashed. Buying an iPad2 is a silly solution. Apple just wants our cash for the "Latest and Greatest" when in reality they are pushing firmware that prematurely out dates our hardware. Same thought, why are i-device batteries not user changeable? SAME ANSWER. In reality a jailbreak and downgrade will most likely fix the problem. Not spending hard earned money on a device that will be out dated by Apple in 12 to 16 months time. These devices are very well engineered and also very powerful. You just need to realize that while Apple makes some cool stuff they are a company out to take our money and will do anything possible to make us think that we need NEW Apple stuff. NOT TRUE!! Armed with knowledge your i-device will last well past the Apple expiration date. Moral of the story? JAILBREAK and take ownership of your device, it's yours and you payed good money for it. The DMCA says it's perfectly LEGAL so just do it.

Point completely missed. If you have the cash go ahead and buy an iPad2, great device. My point is that there are alternatives to buying new every year. YOU may feel that the devices are disposable. I and quite a few others do not feel that way. By your logic I should replace my Alienware laptop every time a new model is released. There is alot of life in these devices and replacing every year is quite frankly stupid IMHO. And, on all the wonderful features Apple has graced us with in iOS5. Well, these can all be had on a jailbroken device. Heck, I'm using SIRI on one of my iPods. This is a GTA3 thread, and we have both derailed it. Lets just agree to disagree and get back on topic. ... I am so tired of buying games full price when they always go on sale briefly after, something is definately wrong with this kind of business model...... It's like saying lets screw over people willing to pay full price then do a sale for all the cheapies that wont buy anything over a few bucks. What gives?
lol Im not counting all the apps I have and how much memory they are. The point is I can play heavy graphical games like Infinity Blade 2 and Real Racing 2 perfectly on my iPad 1. The point is that it just crashes on my iPad 1 after a couple mins of playing it. Im not spending $600 just to play this game. So all I asked was a refund from apple for $5... I dont see anything wrong with that. Now if Rockstar comes up with an update to address this issue I'll be more than happy to rebuy it.
iPad 2 lag Does anybody get slight lag on iPad 2? It happens when I drive fast through crowded places or quickly turn around. Every time I see people posting about "flawless" performance on their devices makes me kinda nervous. I just hope there's nothing wrong with my iPad. I'm on iOS 4.3.3 JB'ed, but I paid for the game. Tried rebooting and turning off 3G and wifi. No result

In could be the jb or iOS 4. I have an iPad 2 (32GB, 3G, iOS 5.0.1, no jb) and it is flawless. I put my money on the jb .
True its only small change but its like giving a finger to the true fans who bought on release,i think 7days is even quicker than EA reduce their games lol! Thats why i love Indie developers-they wont turn around and reduce their games straight away, its a shame all of this started this year and now its the going trend-everyone anticipates a price drop so why buy full price. I actually thought Rockstar were a decent enough developer to think wow this was a 30 quid game ten years ago lets release it for 3quid (which was amazingly cheap) then half it again 7days later argh!!!
