I really don't think it's Apple's fault that there isn't blood on A4 devices. Rockstar felt that it slowed things down too much so they didn't include it. It's just a puddle of red polygons, it's not even that big of a deal. I don't see what it has to do with planned obsolescence.

This game is a no brainer at $5 and an absolute must have regardless of the device plus its universal so when and if you may get a better device down the road you can enjoy it in all its glory.

it's not even a polygon - its a flat texture, that in reality looks pretty terrible most of the time anyways. :p

What I wish they had kept in was the View Distance Slider in the display options - if I could lessen the view distance just a bit the game would perform that much better. There is no reason I shouldn't have that control either seeing as it was available on all PC versions - it seems like common sense to include it.

It would be nice if there was an option to turn blood on/off. The game runs very smoothly on my iPhone 4, I think it could handle some blood puddles.

Oh but there is blood that squirts out of people as you attack them, on A4 devices as well as A5 devices. But no blood puddles on A4 devices.

Loved the game on my PS2, I think the iOS port is really well done..... but even then the game just doesn't fit this format very well.

The aiming is terrible and basically game breaking. On a mission where you need to kill a specific target? Nah, you are gonna randomly lock onto someone else and have the cops after you right away instead.

Timing based mission? Those times clearly were not changed from the PS2 game and most are next to impossible to complete without countless retries.

The insane amount of on screen buttons doesn't help anything either, I swear at times (namely when you are pressing two at once) they aren't responsive either. I'll be turning in a sharp turn, and braking. The braking will continue but half way through a turn the unit loses track of my steering finger and sends me careening straight into a building.

Even if the controls were perfect (waaaaay too many buttons to be considered a "clean" port in my world) the game itself is sooooo very dated. No GPS, no car collections, no increase in stats/progression, brutal mission death penalties, lack of a decent check-point system ect ect.

I think the Ganstar games are just "ok" but they are more playable on the iOS for me personally. Even though they are just a shell of what GTAIII offers the mechanics they ape are more "modern" and just more fun.

I'll be real excited if Vice City/San Andreas get ported as they start to add in some of these more "modern" conventions. As it stands GTAIII is a technical marvel but not much of a game.

I'm sure Rockstar could find a way to change the aiming. I mean, while it's not game breaking, it is pretty annoying considering all the shooting you've got to do with the (apparent) lack of cheats. I mean, just take a look at the Gangstar games. They're nowhere near the same quality of GTA, but the aiming system worked just fine. All you really had to do was touch whatever you wanted to target/untarget and that was it, no need to port aiming from PC/console version.

Why are people so bent out of shape about no blood being in some versions? Sounds kind of sickening to me. :(

Hi guys - I'm having trouble installing the game: I get error code 0xE8000004 when trying to copy it onto my ipad1. Can anyone help?
To be clear, the game is a legit purchase and my ipad is not jailbroken - I've also updated iTunes and the ipad to the latest ios release.
I've never had a problem with any other app - any ideas??

    Cheers

Edit - just tried to install on my ipod touch 4 and got the same thing. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

The only thing I don't like in this GTA on my iPhone 4 is no light effects - for example, when you turn on sirens in a police car, you just hear the sound - no any light effects . Is it same on iPhone 4S ?

    But besides that, it's cool ! :)

Could they add an option to tap on targets to aim at them? This wouldn't fix the camera, but it would make the aiming much much better

Because some people like to complain about everything. Such a small detail and people bitch and moan.

Wait so beating a prostitute to death with a baseball bat or mowing down pedestrians with a car isn't sickening to you? GTA games have always been about violence, blood is just a minor detail. It's just that has been included in the original GTA 3 (and all GTA games) that we are missing on A4 devices.

Well all devices show blood spurting out of people as you attack them. But only A5 devices show puddles of blood.

It's not even that. It's just kind of sadistic to be upset because a game doesn't satisfy your bloodthirst enough. Good lord.

The difference is that if they took that part of the game out, you wouldnt hear me crying about how they took out my ability to beat up a prostitute. That would be sickening.
