Jdragoon thought CW was an older game than GTA III. He's a very good friend so I was just giving him a hard time and laughing at him.
It hasn't been as quick and easy as you made it out to be. The game was announced almost 2 months ago and it was already in a playable enough state to allow the press to have hands-on previews, so they've been working on this a lot longer than 2 months.
oh man! i can't wait! Gangstar series is finally over for me , i hope it is optimized for the ipad 2 with great graphics and when the port is succesful i hope they bring vice and san andreas as well who knows?
If Vice City is possible, then there is a good chance that San Andreas is possible too although the file size will be enormous. Let's not forget that Max Payne will also come to the iOS next year.
Well GTA III 10 year Anniversary is this year with support for 4th and 5th gen devices. A supposed Vice City 10 Year Anniversary would be in 2012 which can target 5th and 6th gen devices. A San Andreas 10 year anniversary would be in 2014, by which time we're talking about 7th and 8th gen devices. Time and technology always go along nicely. Personally, with GTA V expected in 2012, I'm hoping for a completely new GTA V era mobile game for 2013 just like GTA IV had Chinatown Wars. In other words, between ports and a new game, Rockstar could potentially sustain a yearly GTA mobile release schedule for the foreseeable future. EDIT: On another topic, the graphics in GTA III Anniversary from these latest screenshots really look like the mobile release is closer to the PC version. I really don't see the use of shaders or the other improvements from the XBox release, except perhaps the sharper textures from XBox compared to PC and PS2 are used here. The draw distance for the environment looks PC class, but the draw distance of the vehicles and pedestrians looks shorter and more PS2 class.
The only gameplay has been on the ipad version. Its pretty obvious that all those buttons wont be on the iPhone 4s/ Touch or any other Android phone
Lately, I have seen releases like The Bard,s Tale and Desert Zombie that have a very remarkable downgrade in terms of graphics on ipod4g and iphone4, and this is horrible because this 2 games have on the retina display the low resolution of iphone3gs screen, and of course looks awful on 4gDevices. I know that iphone4 doesnt have the same power as iphone4s, but PLEASE I hope that this change on GTA III supporting 1-core iOS devices doesn´t mean a similar downgrade
First, learn to type proper grammer. Second, there is nothing wrong with Desert Zombies graphics, it just sucks, period. The Bard's Tale doesn't support retina on older devices at the moment because the Dev does not want it there at the moment. And don't worry, im 100% positive GTA 3 will look the same as it looks on iPhone 4S on the iPhone 3gs-
The iPhone 4 has the same GPU as the iPhone 3GS, just clocked slightly higher. However, the iPhone 4 has 4x more pixels to drive when running in Retina mode. In some respects this means the iPhone 4 is weaker graphically than the older iPhone 3GS. Apple quotes the iPhone 4S' completely new, and different GPU as 7x faster and it is anywhere from 2-6x faster in independent benchmarks. These performance differences are in the hardware and no amount of programming, hand waving or wishing will change this. All we can hope is that developers try their best to squeeze every last bit of performance out of each device and if that still isn't enough to deliver an acceptable gaming experience on older devices, then they will hopefully just not support older devices instead of trying to sell users a sub-par experience that leaves everyone unhappy. Rockstar being a reputable company and one with a lot of resources, when they say 4th gen devices are supported, I'm sure they include good user experience as a factor too. That still means that 5th gen devices will be even better due to their faster CPU and GPU, either with more graphical effects, longer draw distances or simply higher/smoother framerate. On a sidenote, I believe the lack of 3rd gen device support in GTA III is more a matter of the weaker CPU, 600MHz vs 800MHz in the iPhone 4 and 4th gen Touch, than the GPU.
The 3GS version definitely won't look the same as the iPhone 4S version, it's impossible because retina screens have twice the amount of pixels. Oh and your grammar and spelling isn't the best, so think before you criticise someone else.
