yes man! can play it on release day with my device so happy they made it compatible with 4th gen ipod! Thanks
3.99 euros and working on my iPod 4G? Instant buy!!! Just hoping it's not too big, had to remove 1/3 of my games for IB2...
Yeah I'm really glad they were able to get single core devices optimized in the build without the need for a patch. PS thanks Brad for the mention on the article
I'd be very interested to see what sacrifices were made to get it running on A4 devices vs A5 devices. Particularly, is it still native Retina resolution on the 4th gen Touch, since it is RAM constrained compared to the iPhone 4 and downclocked compared to the iPad 1. EDIT: Looking at the camera button in the right of the image, I guess one of the new features will be quick recording and posting of gameplay videos.
All those buttons on the iPad look barely manageable. I wonder what they're going to do on the iPhone and iPod Touch?
Well the controls work fine in gameloft's gangstar games, even without using the accelerometer for steering. So hopefully there will be some alternative control option similar to the controls in gangstar. Rockstar would be copying Gameloft for once . Come to think of it, that's one thing Gameloft always does well. EA and Activision can't get FPS controls right (IMO at least), but gameloft's FPS controls are excellent. Same goes for their racing games with different control options. Whereas EA's racing games are all tilt-only.
Im sure there will be other control options, probably some context sensitive buttons that pop up when needed. Im hoping theres accelerometer controls for driving.
More people will buy it...? Did you see how many people jumped onboard and said they'd "definitely download it at this price" once the price was announced? I don't think that the quality will be at 4.99, it's just a competitive price IMO. They do have to compete with the Gangstar games, and I'm pretty sure Rockstar realizes this.
Yeah, I think gwet is right here. They got away with porting GTA:CW for $9.99 two years ago and were able to sell extremely well and actually stay at the top of the charts for quite a while, but times have definitely changed. There is so many more times the competition now on the AppStore, it's incomparable. $6.99 would be a competitive price. $4.99 is a no thought, must-have price. This will no doubt be the top grossing app just hours after it releases. I'm thinking number one on the paid charts as well.
