Actually, that is not true. The developers never stated that it was an iPhone 4s exclusive. When they presented the game, they stated that it would only look this good on a 4s. It is still playable on the iPhone 4 but it will not be as graphically stunning.
It would be if GTA IV hadn't reared it's ugly head to accept the award. That said, even if GTA III was considered "the worst one" it'd be a fantastic game regardless.
Just out of curiosity, are there any iPhone 4 only games? I don't recall ever seeing a game optimized solely for the IP4, so it seems kind of unusual that there are games being developed only for IP4s.
Well thats because the iPhone 4 and the 3GS run on basically the same hardware. Same CPU, although clocked slightly higher in the iP4, same GPU (also presumably clocked higher in the iPhone 4). The only major difference is the amount of RAM. I've seen a couple of iPhone 4 only games and that was mainly because of RAM constraints. The iPhone 4s on the other hand is a powerhouse- dual-core CPU and more importantly, dual-core GPU. So its natural for the developers to try to use that power. Hope that answers your questions.
Ah okay, makes sense. Especially when the iphone 4 runs at double the resolution compared to the 3gs which would almost bring them neck-in-neck speed wise. Thanks for clarifying.
I don't understand the Hype for a old game like this. It's the most horrible gta. San Andreas would be a good port not this. I own an iphone 4 and i'm not going to change my device for this pathetic game. Infinity blade 2 is better than this.
GTA3 is a legendary game. It's the first full 3d gta game, I remember waiting outside my local game shop for it to open so I could get this ASAP on release. Even now it's still my fav gta game of the series. Love it and can't wait. Edit. Oh and San Andreas?! That is by far the weakest gta game, it was a parcel of crap. Fair enough it was huge but the game itself was pants!
You did not just say that! Screw story, screw missions, screw characters, messing about in the sandbox MADE Grand Theft Auto, and there was never a better sandbox with better things to mess about with than San Andreas.
GTA 3 was the first of its kind in many ways but in comparison to GTA: San Andreas it was very limiting and offered little to do outside of driving or killing. It was however, fun and is still a great game but San Andreas did raise the bar considerably, I mean, your character in GTA didn't even speak... So to say that GTA: San Andreas was pants just doesn't make any sense... None whatsoever. It was a more open and varied version of the open world game that was given to you in the form of GTA 3. Also, many people have fond memories of GTA 3 and the feeling of nostalgia is great but don't let that cloud your judgement.
Well I say San Andreas is the king. What is not to like about it? I mean sure, the story might be a bit weak (and I use that term loosely because to me, its story is truely memorable) but the large area for exploration and the awesome cheat codes are made up for it. Really, when I hear people say GTA III is better than San Andreas, it makes me really wanna laugh. One is a small sandbox world with a mute main character vs. a big large world with many memorable and hilarious characters. You decide.
I still have the game on Playstation 2 and i my contract on my iPhone 4 expires in june next year so taking the game has yet to be released i can live without it for the next 6 months till i renew my contract it would be interesting though on how it will iive up on a touch screen.
San Andreas was good. I didn't like all the "gangsta" stuff in Los Santos. But I really liked the countryside and desert and the missions that take place in rural areas. I had fun doing stuff like driving/riding vehicles off Mount Chilliad, messing around with aircraft at the abandoned airstrip in the desert, getting into Area 51 and stealing a tank, etc. Oh and one of my favourite characters was that hippy guy
1. Both Vice City and San Andreas were great. 2. The verdict? San Andreas of course.******* Jet packs, skydiving, tricked out rides, getting fit or fat and a story that involves outlandish but fathomable conspiracy theories with each area involving missions that make you forget you're playing GTA. 3. GTA 3 was fun, but not the best of the three. It's kind of the equivalent of playing call of duty 3 multiplayer instead of the newer installments. Still fun, but will leave you wanting. Either way, it will be much better than the Gangstar series (gameloft).

Holy cow!!! $4.99?!! Really?!! What a steal!! Seriously, I was like 'I'll buy this even it cost me $15 bucks'!! But $4.99?!!
With those devices listed and only $4.99, this is going to garner a whole damn lot of sales right out the gate. Here's hoping there aren't any crippling bugs or crashes. Assuming there aren't then I think sequals are just a matter of time.
