While demoing the recently announced tenth anniversary mobile port of Grand Theft Auto III to Digital Trends's Adam Rosenberg, Rockstar claimed that mobile versions of Vice City and San Andreas aren't out of the question. While Rockstar admits that ports of the aforementioned games would be a "technical challenge", it believes the feat is "very possible". From Pocket Gamer.
If they're capable of GTA III then I don't see why the other two wouldn't be possible.. I would expect at least Vice City (less content)
October. Though I highly doubt it'll be that soon... There still has been no official statement from R*, so I have no idea where IGN is pulling this info from....

I think that Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories would see the AppStore before Vice City and others. Just because those two games are already out for the PSP and seeing as how the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 are ridiculously more powerful than the PSP its an easy bet that they would run on our favorite devices.
I do not think that they will arrive for iPod/iPhone 4G,seeing as even GTA 3 has trouble running on them.
I didn't say the iPod and iPhone 4. The 4S and iPad 2 are tons stronger than the PSP. It will pose a challenge but I am sure that Rockstar could pull it off.

In all the fuss about the 4S not having a new "shell", I think a LOT of people missed the real message of just how much has changed inside. Every time Apple jumps up generation in hardware specs, I feel like I'm trying iOS again for the first time. It's that much faster, more responsive. More of a gap than between the 4 and 3GS I would say.
I wounder would it be universal app for both iPad 2 and iPhone 4S? If so, would the game support iCloud so I can continue playing on the train with iPhone and jump to iPad when I home, lets say?
Anyone think maybe the game hasnt come out yet because they are making it for older devices on release as well for ipad 2 and 4S?
I doubt it that would contradict everything they had said. I'm sure Rockstar has a brilliant reason not to release this port yet...right? lol I really want this game already, G:Rio is cool and all but gimme the real deal please w/retina gorgeousness thanks!
It's not even officially confirmed to be coming out for the older devices. That's just a rumor that a studio who is involved in this port said
