This is my first kairosoft title i ever played since i just can't resist a grand prix title. The 14 year play makes me feel a bit rushed since i'm already in my 3d year and i don't feel i've accomplished much. My question is can i take it slowly and discover at my own pace, take a few runtroughs or really try to hit it hard from first runtrough on?really liking it so far but not really sure what to do,the game doesn't really tells you Again my first kairosoft title i play, most people here seem to have played more games of them, any ideas?
I'd say take your time with the first play through, since after you beat it once, you can turn on the fast mode. There's also no way you can unlock everything the first time through. At the end of year 14, you get to choose one car and one part to carry over into the next game (including upgrades and experience), so keep that in mind. Also, if you do pick a car, note that if you upgrade it while the driver has a golden aura, you get twice the bonus.
I´m waiting for a price drop on this one, like "Game dev story" did; on the other hand, this might be worth the full price!
I can't get past the Kairo Course either, and I've finished the game 3 times over the past 4 days as well. =) I tend to carry over the Proto Car and Super Charger, so that I can get to the Formula Circuit by year 5 or so, giving me 10 years to ramp up the A-level stuff. But I'm still landing in 7th-8th place at Kairo. And my car gets BEAT-UP badly by collisions while jostling for position.
I was going to wait for a price drop but couldn't wait and I'm glad I didn't as this is the best game kairosoft have release since game dev, there other games are cool but these two are the best.
I've only raced the Kairo Course once, but my fully upgraded aerocars (with stats of 400+) got smashed. I think a supercar might do better... As it was, my aerocars got so damaged on the lap that they were puffing smoke for most of the last quarter of the race and were literally a sliver away from exploding when they limped slowly across the line. So don't ignore durability for that race!
Do you guys think that the flickering issue will damage the ipod touch 2g if I keep playing this game?
I was able to beat the Kairo Course using the SL Car, MR, Slick Tires, V12 Engine, Supercharger, and Big Wing. Specs are 630/385/471/341 (dur/spd/acc/hndl). I had the driver with a Yellow Aura and used that up on the qualifier to start 2nd. Had the other driver with the same setup start up 3rd. We both took the first 2 spots for the first half. They started catching up to the guy in the back and he kept blocking them so the guy in first place could have a ride without anyone around him. The other times I tried without the aura, it was tough keeping up with everyone in the later part of the race b/c of all the collision. Hope this helps you guys beat it. It took a lot of luck btw. I saved the game before I had aura to make sure I had a yellow aura. If I didn't have that or I did and didn't win the race, I would restart the save file.
This is the greatest game that ever did game. It's like they took all the elements I love in Gran Turismo and honey I shrunk it down to pure fun.
Dumb question, but the 'carry over' cars and parts .... can i assume that it is the 'bonus' car and part when you start a new game or am i missing something else?
Yep, that's it. The game also updates the state of these bonus parts if you improve them in a particular game (within the 14 year game time limit) If you were really into min-maxing your score in this game, this offers a whole other layer of grinding in that you can target potential ideal parts on one play through with the goal only being to get those to near maximum stats for later play throughs.
I picked this game up only yesterday and didnt get round to trying it out until I got home from a ten hour nightshift I've just looked at my clock and it's 7pm I've been playing this non stop for close to 10 hours. Unbelievably addictive and very similar to Game Dev Story. Worringly I also picked up Mega Mall story yesterday as well and haven't even got round to loading that one up yet. IF it wasn't for my battery I'd probably still be playing.
i have a newbie question. please help. i don't quite understand the difference when my part/car gets leveled up through the UPGRADE menu and when it gets leveled up after a race. even though i maxed my upgrade for a particular part, it still keeps upgrading after a race. help?
