events r awsome. theyre a way to earn money, theyre just plain fun, you can play them with friends, and so much more. who doesnt like events. servers stay alive because events are fun. yeah theyre fixing the map and updates are coming ultra fast...i rly wanna get hired there but i dont think i can because im a trial. but i can see nerv ending up very successful. thats what it is. the lag caused all the stuff that was made onto the server dissapear, so its just blank... XD yay im a sporty guy . lolz no offense but ive sorta thought of you as a teddy bear idk if thats good or bad. yeah i dont get the popularity thing. apparently you need an admin recomindation instead of being an actual skilled person. the whole system is screwed up.
Kinda disliking Nerv a bit more every day. What's the point of hiring uploaders who just rename graphics as their own from other servers? They don't need events yet if most of them are staff anyway. They need people to work on stuff, not host events. Events are nice eventually, but maybe if they at least work their self up to hosted first.
I actually am one of the people who got hired as a LAT and actually worked on Nerv most of our old LATs are hardly on, and me and iChicken only see each other taking part with the server.. I made the ground a lot more detailed, and still working on it. I am also working on gwfcctennis with godzilla at the momment. Nerv is too strict, they allow literally only retarded rules.. They never let me use my opinions until I use them without them knowing, and they like it. BTW: I'm one of the 4 out of 20 staff there (they don't even need half of the staff) that actually did not abuse their powers of pulling, jailing, and literally just showing off their weapons. I'm trying to look for a really active server, where I can work with people my level of maturity, I personally don't like working with other iPhone players as most of them are too young to know what they are doing. @Nursie, I can understand why you hate Nerv. I do too, but it has a good amount of players on it. I hate these two new uploaders who got hired, they literally threaten the players by saying "STFU, STOP STALKING ME, OMFG YOU NOOB GO AWAY!" Is that a real role model to the players? If he thinks someone is too harrassing to him, he should just "upload" somewhere else.. One of them also asked me for a huge list of staff weapons which they don't even need as an uploader anyway.. its not a complete noob server dude theres lots of skilled people on iphone if you just look for them. and yes quests would be a very good thing for graal we need them, and soon.
@Healy:I don't know about you, but you're kind of wrong, I'm not really whining, I'm just saying what it is like in Nerv, even though it is really strict for staffs, it is a very friendly, loyal server. First of all, Jordan, I was talking about burhke whining that no one was talking to him. Second, it's not 'plain rude', it's called being honest and straightfoward. Where the hell did you get that ridiculous idea from? Each graal server gets their own VPS spread accross multiple machines...would be no point virtualising a host if you then just dumped everything into a single VPS....seriously. Eurocenter utilises multiple servers in both their own data center as well as a data centre in America (possibly multiple more but i know of these ones). UC worlds are kinda ridiculous in some ways. Generally, the person who purchased the UC world has limited/no skillset. They hire someone to manage the place. They hire people equally useless people to high places because they are the owners friends. These useless people have massive ego problems and generally hinder the server. Any new staff instantly gets way too many rights for what they need. Only skilled admins should get access to levels/* including the gmap. All other staff should only have access to a working directory. In most cases, i wouldn't even add this directory to folder config. Once completed, the skilled admin should verify the work and if satisfied, upload to the main server. This saves bad work being uploaded as well as preventing potential malicious code being added. Make sure to enforce a common style/theme rather than every member implement their own. Secondly, cut back on useless staff positions and staff tools. It's so annoying to come on to a backwater UC server to see some fool with a GP tag hitting trying to sword me with boots on and a gold name. It's also very annoying to have some events guy constantly summoning the entire server to play some stupid event they didn't even make. All comes down to being professional: Prevent bad/unfinished levels being added to the main map (especially where new players enter) Reduce useless things like staff personal houses and such, Allow development positions only! This means no GP/FAQ and no events!! Remove staff tools altogether or severely log/administer them. I often help out on UC worlds. Not so much with levelling/scripting now but more with simple principles or practises to utilise in a UC world. If you'd like some organisational assistance, let me know. n.b. Plus, most of the lag comes from the iPhone's inability to have 1500 players on at the same time without having at least some lag.
