I just got my iPhone 4 today and it's amazing. I played the updated version of Real Racing and the difference is outstanding. Everything is so clear and there are no jagged edges, looks much better than when I played it on my original iPhone. X-Plane HD for iPhone 4 looks great too. I was amazed at how the frame rate remained solid even when there is lot's going on. The iPhone 4 feels like a very powerful device. edit - I just played Nova with the gyroscope controls. Feels very strange, I had to stand up and twist my whole body to turn. Felt really strange, yet cool. And then I played Gangstar. It looks pretty bad because they haven't updated it for iPhone 4, but it would be nice if Gameloft updated it with better graphics and longer draw distance.
the cpu is actually running at 1ghz, already been confirmed by comex and mcrumors, that's why it gets soo hot when playing games! and also why everything loads so much quicker than on the 3gs. when i compare the two with the same games and apps the iphone 4 loads in less than half the time it takes my 3gs. I'm guessing that the faster cpu and 512mb ram is the reason why the iphone 4 can handle better games at the higher resolution, the ram is a huge help for gaming, i've not seen the iphone 4 struggle on anything thrown at it yet gaming wise and i expect a lot more great looking games down the line.
Yeah. You guys were the test dummies to identify issues, while we'll hopefully get the perfect iPhone 4 without any issues.
Late September is when the issues will be fixed, until then everyone will be getting the same phones as us! i've not had any problems with signal anyway lol.
The sad truth. It's the same with everything these days. Build a car, people buy it, the brakes fail, upgrade the car with better brakes.
Getting a free bumper might actually be a sweeter deal for some people because it will help protect the screen while also preventing signal loss. Also if Apple continues to release new iPhones at the same rate then I'll probably have sold my current iPhone for the new model 11 months from now with some extra change in my pocket to keep or for accessories Getting a free iPhone every year is awesome
Back to the topic, Carcassonne is an awesome game and was updated for the Retina display a while back. It's not going to wow you with graphical aplomb, but it definitely looks very nice on the Retina Display. Nice smooth lines. Plants vs. Zombies looks amazing on the iPhone 4. I haven't been totally taken with the game, but if you like PvZ you will love it on the 4. I like PvZ, I just haven't quite been drawn to it as completely as some have. Anyway, it looks superb on the iPhone 4. A game that *desperately* needs to be updated for the iPhone 4 is PuzzleQuest. It's a great game, but that text is sooo hard to read. The Retina Display would help, I think. It wouldn't be any bigger, but with smooth as butter letters it would still be more readable then it is now.
Games on my iPhone 4 with retina display: - N.O.V.A - Splinter Cell: Conviction - Carnivores - Real Racing - Flight Control - X-Plane 4G - Nanosaur 2 - Plunder Land - Eliminate: Gun Range
Stick Golf. Yes, it's a stick people game, and thus has simple graphics, but the game looks great with retina display graphics anyway. After all, on the retina display, lines look like lines, not stairs. Plus it's a really fun game and right now it is free! It was made free for free game of the day (OpenFeint) several days back, but still seems to be free. It's a really fun 2D mini-golf game, in effect, with very good OpenFeint support. Also, I forgot about Arkanoid, which got updated recently for iOS 4 and the Retina display, and it is an *awesome* port of the classic game. A really, really great game, with good OpenFeint support as well.
