    Eliminate: GunRange is so worth the .99. Don't worry, it's pretty much Eliminate with real guns and no freemium.

    Archetype is awesome too.

    Problem is the iphone 4 uses the same gpu as the 3gs, so with no more power, trying to go up to the HD resolution will impact performance.

    Yeah, that's not true.
    iPhone 4 uses the same processor as iPad.

    Just look at the specs it has the same GPU as the 3GS, the cpu is obviously better but that doesn't push polygons.

    Do your homework before talking rubbish next time please.
    Go and compare a few iphone 4 games against iphone 3gs games, a HUGE difference, all run silky smooth too. god finger for example looks and runs poor on the 3gs, on the iphone 4 it looks like a stunning cartoon and runs at 60fps. another example, Real racing on the iphone 4 looks stunning and runs super smooth.

    The iphone 4 uses the same cpu and gpu (A4) as the ipad, the gpu has a LOT more power than the 3gs (some say 3-5 times more power), the cpu is 400mhz faster (1ghz vs 600mhz), the ram is 512mb instead of 256mb, need I go on? :D

    Stop being randomly rude before checking if you're right or wrong, people.
    Scaramoosh is right : 3GS got the same GPU as the 4, period.

    iPhone4

    iPhone 3GS

    Which are the same as iPad, too.

    The only difference between iPhone4 and 3GS is the processor and the RAM.

    And if you really want to educate yourself, go on developer forums, you will see that devs are having headaches with 3GS to iPhone4 porting. A lot of games have to be totally revamped (alpha textures diminution, detail cutting, etc) because of the hardware not being able to handle a raw resolution doubling. Just like with the 3GS to iPad conversion.

    I think the main point is that the iPhone 4 uses the Apple A4 chip, which is reportedly much more efficient so in theory... should give you more power to work with. At least that's what Apple says.

    Apple A4—SGX535 + VXD375 + Cortex-A8

    * Apple iPad
    * Apple iPhone 4

    Samsung APL0298C05—SGX535 + VXD370 + Cortex-A8

    * Apple iPhone 3GS
    * Apple iPod Touch 3rd Gen (32GB/64GB)

    Yeah, the chip is kind of an improvement for sure :)

    But could be better, as it is guessed to be downclocked to 800Mhz instead of its former 1ghz, for battery saving.
    (source)

    The 3GS is downclocked from 800 to 600, too.
