Wondering which platform might be better... slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #5 slewis7, Dec 14, 2017 My early impressions: I am enjoying this. The artwork is very beautiful and detailed which I suspect would be more enjoyable on a screen larger then my iPad (but the mobile price is much lower, so there is a trade off). There does seem to be a cryptic story that is unveiled as you go along. The game does not explain anything about it’s puzzle mechanism, but it is pretty easy to figure out what to do. You can turn hotspot hints off, but it does not really make much difference in the difficulty. I have struggled with a few of the puzzles and am stuck at the moment after about an hour of playing. This is really interesting and unconventional. DonnyDJ76 Well-Known Member Nov 1, 2011 1,793 55 48 Male Teacher Hackensack, NJ #6 DonnyDJ76, Dec 14, 2017 Steve, can you please check if there is Game Center? Much appreciated... slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #7 slewis7, Dec 14, 2017 I see no indication of Game Center, and it seems irrelevant to me. I just solved the puzzle I was stuck on. Very, very clever, unexpected and tricky. There is more to these puzzles then I anticipated. I am so glad I did not give in to searching online for the solution. tekchic Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2009 452 29 28 Female Software Developer Phoenix, AZ http://www.tekchic.com #8 tekchic, Dec 14, 2017 Think I'm gonna buy this one tonight to support the solo developer. Just read a review on Kotaku (https://kotaku.com/the-puzzle-of-a-lifetime-1821235999) and the artwork's quite beautiful. This one looks like it'll play better on iPad, and I've got a flight tomorrow -- so I think it might be a nice one to install on a larger screen than iPhone X. slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #9 slewis7, Dec 14, 2017 I could not imagine playing this game on a small screen like a phone. If someone was limited to that, I would recommend they buy the game for PC instead. nkarafo Well-Known Member Mar 2, 2011 864 14 18 #10 nkarafo, Dec 14, 2017 I have bought it for supporting the developer but also for playing a unique puzzle game. I like it so far. Please disable hints. If it has hints, it is waaay too easy and it will end too fast. slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! The “hints” option just shows hot spots and there is a lot more to the puzzles then just clicking around. The game is transcendental. Best puzzle game Ive played on iOS. Someon Active Member Oct 4, 2017 39 1 8 #14 Someon, Dec 14, 2017 Last edited: Dec 14, 2017 yes, it seems so. I just wish there was more chapters. Spoiler massively spoiled it to myself while carefree watching walkthrough of first two stages/elements. Once you finish it, you will go through whole game in few minutes. I was hoping there is more to it in terms of gameplay. tekchic Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2009 452 29 28 Female Software Developer Phoenix, AZ http://www.tekchic.com #15 tekchic, Dec 15, 2017 Picked this up tonight and am looking forward to playing it on the plane tomorrow morning on my iPad. Spoiler Specially it was during the train puzzle in the purple fruit section . Was stuck for a bit until I caved and looked at a guide to complete the section. Went back, completed the section properly, and didn't experience any other issues. Amazingly inventive game! Sure, it is short (maybe about an hour if you plow through), but well worth the cost of $5. This is definitely one of the more memorable game I've played in a while. I already loved Annapurna for their films... Between Gorogoa, Edith Finch and Donut County I'm fully on the bandwagon for any future releases they publish... If you're going to "buy" yourself into the indie game industry this is how you should do it! slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! I'll give in and buy the season pass if u make more. Man that was great. No matter how great everyone else thinks they are, I can't stand shorter games. Like Monument Valley. That game's garbage. This however is very much an exception. I can see why this one would take a long time to make. Bravo. Great experience. Georgina Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jan 30, 2010 361 7 18 Sydney #19 Georgina, Dec 17, 2017 Oh, YES. So glad to see this finally come out, and it's absolutely gorgeous on the iPad Pro. I was surprised how short the game is, but it's definitely something you play more for the experience than the longevity. I didn't find any of the puzzles particularly difficult and I think part of that is the careful way the game limits you to just a few screens at once -- if you get stuck, there's only a finite number of things that can interact with each other, and clues are often embedded in the environments as well. It really is a masterclass in puzzle design and gently leading the player to the correct solution as well as a lovely gameplay experience. I haven't played a lot of games this year, but this is easily my favourite. brogmoid Well-Known Member Jun 21, 2015 86 7 8 a series of tubes the south side of the sky #20 brogmoid, Dec 19, 2017 Absolutely fantastic game that sets a new gold standard for zen puzzlers.
