Anyone else hear about this? Google coming out with a phone that offers unlimited calls/text, etc.? http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/personal_tech/article6924233.ece
It is all conjecture. It isn't happening anytime soon, in my opinion. First Google doesn't have a network. GVoice would be used via your WiFi internet connection using another provider. Second Google has made it clear they just want to put their efforts into the mobile OS. Third, having a third party company make the hardware sounds exactly like what they are already doing. Moto, HTC and Samsung all make their own devices to run Android. Google even had a small say in the G1 phone as far as appearance. That site is just trying to get traffic. I won't believe any rumor that Google will manufacture their own device until they come out and say it. Why do they want to spend money to make a device when they have other manufacturers spending their cash for the Android OS? Apple makes hardware and always has. Google and Microsoft (for the most part) are software sellers.
Yes but didn't google just buy gizmo5 for gv. Still not enough and not really a new network but hey google could just say want free wifi? And set up towers everywhere and then the phone would just need wireless. Most likely won't happen but hey you never know. Though if google is making a phone it will be through HTC and will have android on it but the free calls part would be only when your using wireless with google voice.
